A golf weekend, a hen party, a family reunion or a company trip: groups book rooms at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino for many reasons, and almost all of them end up asking the same question at the front desk. How do we get to the Canadian side, and how do we all get back? NiagaraFallsLimo.net handles that crossing every day, and this is the plan we give group organisers.
The short version is that the distance is tiny and the border is the only real variable. Seneca Niagara is at 310 4th Street in Niagara Falls, New York. Table Rock, at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls, is about 5 km away by road. The time between the two depends almost entirely on the Rainbow Bridge.
How do Seneca Niagara Resort guests get to the Canadian Falls?
From Seneca Niagara Resort, 310 4th Street, the Canadian side is reached over the Rainbow Bridge. Table Rock is about 5 km away, roughly 10–15 minutes of driving plus the border inspection. NiagaraFallsLimo.net collects your group at the resort, crosses with you and returns you; book online and the fare is fixed before payment.
Every passenger needs their own valid travel document for Canada, and the same group needs the right documents to come back into the United States. The chauffeur crosses the bridge with you, but each person answers for themselves at the booth. Our cross-border car service page explains how that works in practice.
The resort, in one paragraph
Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino bills itself as having AAA Four Diamond rooms, more than 2,700 slots and more than 80 tables, plus restaurants that include The Western Door Steakhouse and la Cascata. The resort says guest-room renovations are coming in 2027. For groups, the useful fact is location: the hotel is within walking distance of Niagara Falls State Park and only a few blocks from the Rainbow Bridge approach. Our Seneca Niagara Casino page covers drop-off and pickup at the resort itself.
Documents: sort this out before anyone boards
Groups run into trouble at the border for one reason more than any other: one person has the wrong document. Collect a list well before the trip.
- US citizens entering Canada: CBSA recommends a valid passport. A US passport card, an enhanced driver's licence or proof of citizenship with photo ID may also be accepted, per CBSA's document page. Coming back into the US, a passport, passport card, enhanced driver's licence or trusted traveller card (NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST) meets the US rules.
- Canadian citizens go home by right; carry a passport anyway for the return to the US.
- Children under 16 who are US or Canadian citizens may use a birth certificate for US entry. If a child travels without both parents, a signed consent letter is strongly advised. See our page on crossing with children.
- International guests do not need a Canadian eTA to enter by land in most cases, but visa-required nationals need a Canadian visitor visa. Before coming back into the US, check your US entry status and any ESTA or I-94 requirement with CBP.
- Cannabis must not cross in either direction, in any form, even if bought legally.
Our page on documents for entering Canada has the full list, and the companion page covers documents for entering the USA.
Which bridge, and why it is nearly always the Rainbow
Three crossings connect the two Niagara Falls areas, but for Seneca guests the choice is simple. The Rainbow Bridge lands in Canada at the foot of Clifton Hill, a few minutes from the Horseshoe Falls. The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission says the bridge takes cars, RVs, buses and limousines, with 15 car inspection lanes into Canada and designated tour-bus lanes. CBP's wait-time data lists it as open 24 hours.
The Whirlpool Rapids Bridge is NEXUS-only, and a hired car can use it only if every occupant, including the driver, is a NEXUS member carrying their card. For a group that is almost never the case. The Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, further north, makes sense only if the day starts in Niagara-on-the-Lake. More detail sits on our Rainbow Bridge page.
Tolls are collected one way only, entering Canada. As of 2026 the NFBC charges limousines per axle and buses by axle count; these are part of the trip, not a surprise at the booth.
A sample Canadian-side day for a group
Groups do best with a fixed loop and two firm meeting times. This one fits a morning start and an evening return.
- 9:30 a.m. Pickup at the resort entrance. Head counts and documents checked in the lobby, not in the queue.
- Rainbow Bridge. Driving time is a few minutes; inspection time is whatever it is that morning. Allow generously.
- Table Rock Centre. Drop-off for Journey Behind the Falls, where tunnels lead to portals and an observation deck at the foot of the Horseshoe Falls. It is open all year.
- Midday. Lunch with a view, then a short drive to the dock for Niagara City Cruises between April and November.
- Afternoon. Free time on Clifton Hill, or the Skylon Tower for the long view.
- Evening. Dinner on the Canadian side and, in season, the 10 p.m. fireworks; then back over the Rainbow Bridge to the resort.
Splitting a group is easy with two vehicles: one carload heads to the casino at Fallsview while the other stays on the river. The Fallsview Casino Resort admits guests aged 19 and over; our journal post comparing Seneca Niagara Casino vs Fallsview Casino helps groups choose where to spend the evening.

Vehicles for groups leaving Seneca Niagara
| Group size | Vehicle (or similar) | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 6 | Standard SUV or Executive Black SUV | Six seats and six bags; quickest through tight drop-offs |
| Up to 8 | Stretch Limousine | Minimal luggage; availability confirmed at booking |
| Up to 12 | Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz) | Carry-on only; easy boarding for mixed ages |
| Up to 16 | Stretch SUV Limousine | Minimal luggage; availability confirmed at booking |
| Larger | Coach on request | Two Sprinters often move faster than one coach at Table Rock |
Our group transportation page compares Sprinters, minibuses and coaches in more detail. One house rule applies to every vehicle on this list: no drinking on board, on either side of the border.
Chauffeur vs rideshare vs taxi for this trip
| Option | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Group fit | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private chauffeur | Short drive plus border queue | Fixed fare via booker | One vehicle up to 16; coaches on request | Groups, families, mixed documents |
| Rideshare | Short drive if the driver will cross | App pricing, surge in the evening | Several cars, split group | Pairs who checked the app allows the crossing |
| Taxi | Short drive plus border | Metered | Several cars | A couple going one way |
| Walking the Rainbow Bridge | A walk of roughly 2 km from the Canadian end to Table Rock, plus inspection | Pedestrian toll as of 2026, paid on the Canadian side when walking into the US | Fine for fit adults | Couples with no plans beyond the riverside |
| Driving yourself | Short drive plus border, then paid parking | Fuel, toll and parking | Your own cars | Guests who drove to Seneca anyway |
The honest verdict: a fit couple with passports can walk across the Rainbow Bridge and enjoy a lovely morning on foot; our post on walking across the Rainbow Bridge vs being driven weighs that choice. Rideshare is less reliable here; Niagara Falls International Airport, for example, warns that rideshare services may not cross the border, so check before you rely on one. Once your group passes six people, includes children or older relatives, or wants to be in three places in one day, a pre-booked vehicle that crosses and comes back with you is the calmer choice. Our guide to chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare covers this more broadly.
Coming back: the half of the day people forget
The return to the United States is a separate inspection by US Customs and Border Protection. It can be quick or slow, and nobody can promise which. The NFBC publishes a traffic conditions page, and CBP's Border Wait Times site estimates the time from joining the queue to the primary booth. Our chauffeurs check both before leaving dinner, and the reservations desk can shift your pickup a little if the bridge is unusually busy. The page on border wait times explains how to read the numbers.
Shoppers should know the duty rules before buying: returning US residents get a $200 exemption after less than 48 hours away. Canadians heading back the other way have no personal exemption for same-day trips. Couples staying on the US side who want only an evening across should read our post on US-side hotels and when to cross for dinner.

Who this plan suits
Groups are the reason this post exists: reunions, golf trips and celebration weekends move as one, with one meeting point and one vehicle. Families staying at Seneca can keep children's seats in one car all day. Couples who want the Skylon at sunset and a quiet ride back avoid two queues for cars. Individuals on business at the resort can fit a two-hour Canadian-side loop between meetings. See our groups page for how we plan larger parties.
Frequently asked questions
How far is Seneca Niagara Resort from the Horseshoe Falls?
Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, at 310 4th Street in Niagara Falls, New York, is about 5 km by road from Table Rock at the Horseshoe Falls, via the Rainbow Bridge. Driving takes about 10–15 minutes; the border inspection adds an amount of time nobody can predict, so allow generous margins.
Can I walk from Seneca Niagara to Canada?
Yes, with valid documents. The Rainbow Bridge has a pedestrian walkway. From the Canadian end, Table Rock is a riverside walk of roughly 2 km. Walkers pay a small toll, as of 2026, when walking back into the US, collected on the Canadian side.
What documents do Americans need to visit the Canadian falls from Seneca Niagara?
CBSA recommends a valid passport. A passport card, enhanced driver's licence or trusted traveller card also meets US rules for coming back by land. Children under 16 can use a birth certificate for US entry, and a consent letter is advised if both parents are not travelling.
Does the chauffeur wait on the Canadian side?
Yes, if you book "By the hour". The chauffeur stays with your group, moves you between stops and brings everyone back across the bridge at the end. For a simple drop and later pickup, book two one-way transfers. The booker shows the fixed fare either way.
Can a group of 15 travel together from Seneca Niagara to Canada?
Yes. A Stretch SUV Limousine seats up to 16, subject to availability confirmed at booking, and two Executive Sprinters of up to 12 each are another option. For larger parties, coaches are available on request. Every passenger still needs their own valid documents at the booth.
Is it faster to use the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge from Seneca Niagara?
Only if every person in the vehicle, including the driver, is a NEXUS member carrying a card. The Whirlpool Rapids Bridge is NEXUS-only and open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. For almost every group the Rainbow Bridge, open 24 hours, is the right crossing.
