Pillar and Post is the kind of hotel guests choose so they can stop driving. The spa, the fireplaces and the vineyards a few minutes away all argue for leaving the car keys at home, and that is where NiagaraFallsLimo.net comes in: we bring guests to Pillar and Post in Niagara-on-the-Lake from the airports and cities around the lake, then drive them between wineries, theatres and restaurants for the rest of the stay.
How do you get to Pillar and Post in Niagara-on-the-Lake by chauffeur?
Pillar and Post Hotel & Spa is at 48 John Street West in Old Town Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. NiagaraFallsLimo.net drives guests there from Toronto Pearson (about 123 km, usually 1 h 35 – 1 h 50 off-peak) and Buffalo (about 63 km plus the border). Enter the hotel in the online booker to see the fixed fare before paying.
Pillar and Post is one of three Old Town hotels run by Vintage Hotels, alongside the Prince of Wales Hotel and Queen's Landing. For the full range of inns and hotels in town, see our Niagara-on-the-Lake hotels guide; every property we cover is listed on the hotels hub.
A short walk from Queen Street, a short drive from the vineyards
The hotel sits on the edge of Old Town, close enough to walk to Queen Street and far enough out that the wine route begins almost at the door. Our road distances from the hotel:
- Queen Street and the Old Town clock tower: about 1.2 km.
- Shaw Festival's Festival Theatre: about 1.5 km.
- Fort George National Historic Site: about 2 km.
- Peller Estates and Trius: about 2 km each, under five minutes.
- Inniskillin, on the Niagara Parkway: about 5.7 km, under 10 minutes.
- Niagara District Airport (YCM): about 12 km, around 16 minutes.
- The Horseshoe Falls at Table Rock: about 25 km, roughly 30–35 minutes.
- Twenty Valley wine country at Jordan: about 31 km, around 35 minutes.
That mix is why most of our Pillar and Post guests book a car for the long legs and walk the short ones.
The hotel in brief
Vintage Hotels' Pillar and Post page describes a restored 19th-century building in Old Town with 122 rooms and suites, many with fireplaces. The verified highlights:

- 100 Fountain Spa: 13,000 sq ft, with massage, facials and body treatments, plus a secluded hot spring pool.
- Dining: the Cannery Restaurant, Vintages Wine Bar & Lounge, and The OutPost, an all-seasons café in the hotel gardens.
- Events: 12 historic venues for meetings and celebrations of up to 250 guests, and wedding options from garden ceremonies to a wine country barn.
- Parking: complimentary on-site parking for guests.
- Pets: dogs in a limited number of designated rooms, by reservation.
Arriving: what helps the chauffeur
Pickups and drop-offs are at the hotel's main entrance unless you ask otherwise, and your chauffeur messages when the car is in place. Because the hotel offers on-site parking, a chauffeur waiting for you between winery stops or during a spa treatment has somewhere sensible to wait.
Tell us in the booking notes if:
- You have a spa appointment before departure, so we time the pickup after it rather than racing it.
- You are travelling with a dog staying in one of the designated rooms; trained service animals are welcome in our vehicles, and the desk will confirm the arrangements for a pet before the trip.
- You are part of a wedding or conference group, so the chauffeur knows which entrance and contact to look for.

Coming from the United States
For guests flying into Buffalo or driving up from New York State, the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge is the natural crossing, about 19 km and 20–25 minutes from the hotel on the Canadian side. Into Canada, the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission lists 10 car lanes and a NEXUS lane that runs daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (which-bridge page). A NEXUS lane can only be used if every person in the car, the chauffeur included, is a NEXUS member.
Our Lewiston-Queenston Bridge guide and the page on documents for entering Canada set out what each traveller needs. We never promise a crossing time; the queue is the queue.
Winery days from the hotel's door
From Pillar and Post, Peller Estates (290 John Street East) and Trius (1249 Niagara Stone Road) are each about two kilometres away. Inniskillin, Reif and the Niagara Parkway estates are a short hop beyond, and the Twenty Valley and Beamsville Bench are a 35-minute drive west if you want a second region in the same day.
A few points we share with every wine-day booking:
- No drinking in our vehicles. Niagara Region's by-law forbids licensed drivers to permit alcohol in the vehicle, and Ontario law has no limousine exception. The tastings are at the wineries; the car is why nobody needs to drive afterwards.
- Reserve tastings directly with each estate before the day, then let us build the route around the times.
- Check restaurant status. For example, Peller says its Winery Restaurant is closed for renovation until 13 November 2026 and is operating at the Riverbend Inn in the meantime (Peller restaurant page).
- Book "By the hour" so one car and one chauffeur stay with you through every stop.
Our Niagara-on-the-Lake wine tour service, the wineries guide and the one-day wine tour itinerary go into routes and timing.
Shaw Festival nights
The Shaw Festival runs from 2 April to 23 December in 2026, with its holiday productions playing at the Festival Theatre and the Court House Theatre through December. The Festival Theatre is about 1.5 km from the hotel. On a mild evening, walking is pleasant; in late autumn rain or December cold, a car to the door and back is welcome, particularly for older guests.
Many guests pair a matinee with a winery lunch, or dinner in Old Town before an evening curtain. Our Shaw Festival page covers the theatres and timings, and the Niagara-on-the-Lake restaurants guide helps with the dinner reservation.
Weddings and events at Pillar and Post
With 12 event venues and capacity for up to 250 guests, Pillar and Post hosts weddings that bring guests from several hotels at once. The car for the couple is often a Rolls-Royce or Mercedes-Maybach (availability confirmed at booking); the bigger job is guest movement, handled with Executive Sprinters for up to 12, stretch SUV limousines for up to 16 and coaches on request. Multi-stop bookings collect guests from Queen's Landing, the Prince of Wales and inns around town. Photo stops at the vineyards or the Niagara River are easy to add. See our Niagara wedding limo page.

When the shuttle, a bicycle or your feet will do
Old Town is compact, and from Pillar and Post most of it is walkable. Niagara Parks' WEGO system includes a Niagara-on-the-Lake shuttle in its 24- and 48-hour passes, with transfers at the Floral Clock; an adult 24-hour pass is $16.00 (as of 2026), per the WEGO page. Many wineries are a bicycle ride away, which the hotel itself points out.
Those options are right for a sober afternoon of sightseeing. A chauffeur is right for the airport legs, for tasting days, for a group, and for anyone who wants to reach the Falls and back without timetables. If you are comparing, our guide to booking a limo step by step explains what to have ready.

Frequently asked questions
How far is Pillar and Post from Toronto Pearson airport?
About 123 km (76 mi). Off-peak, the drive takes about 1 h 35 – 1 h 50 along the QEW, then into Old Town. Allow two hours or more on a summer Friday afternoon. Your chauffeur tracks the flight and can meet you inside arrivals if you add meet and greet.
How far is Pillar and Post from Niagara Falls?
The Horseshoe Falls at Table Rock is about 25 km away, usually 30–35 minutes by car via the Niagara Parkway or the inland roads. Clifton Hill is about 22 km. Many guests stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake and make the Falls a half-day trip with a chauffeur.
Can we walk from Pillar and Post to the Shaw Festival?
Yes, for most people. The Festival Theatre is about 1.5 km from the hotel and Queen Street is closer still. In poor weather, or for guests who find the walk long after dinner, a short car ride to the theatre door and back is easy to book.
Which wineries are closest to Pillar and Post?
Peller Estates and Trius are each about two kilometres from the hotel, a few minutes by car. Inniskillin and the Niagara Parkway estates are under 10 minutes away. Book tastings directly with the wineries, then use the booker's by-the-hour mode to keep one car and chauffeur for the day.
Can we have wine in the car between tastings?
No. NiagaraFallsLimo.net does not allow drinking in its vehicles. Niagara Region's vehicle-for-hire by-law forbids licensed drivers to permit alcohol consumption in the vehicle, and Ontario's liquor law has no limousine exception. Bottles you buy travel sealed and stowed, and a sealed bottle can be added in the booker as a gift.
Is there a train station in Niagara-on-the-Lake?
No passenger rail station serves Niagara-on-the-Lake itself. The nearest stations are St. Catharines and Niagara Falls, both on the GO and VIA lines from Toronto. We track train arrivals and meet guests at either station for the final leg to the hotel.
What does a chauffeur to Pillar and Post cost?
The booker shows the fixed all-in fare for your exact pickup, drop-off and vehicle before you pay. Distance, vehicle class and extras such as meet and greet or additional stops set the amount. There is no meter running and no surge pricing.
