The Skylon Tower is the slim concrete tower on Robinson Street with yellow elevator cars running up its outside. Its observation decks and Revolving Dining Room sit 775 ft above the falls, and on a clear day the view reaches Buffalo and, across the lake, Toronto. NiagaraFallsLimo.net takes guests to the tower's front entrance for dinner reservations, sunset deck visits and anniversary nights, then waits or comes back when the meal ends. Below: arrival, tickets, timing and how the tower fits a chauffeured day.
How do you get to the Skylon Tower by chauffeur?
NiagaraFallsLimo.net drives you to the Skylon Tower at 5200 Robinson Street, Niagara Falls, Ontario, and sets you down at the front entrance. The trip from Toronto Pearson is about 120 km (75 mi), typically 1 h 30 – 1 h 45 outside rush hour. Enter your pickup and the tower in the booker to see the fixed fare before paying.
The tower stands between the Fallsview hotel district and Clifton Hill, a short climb up from the river. From a Fallsview hotel it is about 1–2 km, a couple of minutes by car. From the top of Clifton Hill it is about 1 km. From Niagara-on-the-Lake, allow about 30 minutes for the 23 km (14 mi) drive.
What is at the top of the Skylon Tower, and at the bottom
At the top:
- Indoor and outdoor observation decks, reached with a Ride-to-the-Top ticket.
- The Revolving Dining Room, which turns a full 360 degrees about once an hour, so the view changes between courses.
- The Summit Suite Buffet, a casual family buffet that usually runs seasonally from May to October. For 2026 the tower says it closed on October 18 for the season and reopens on New Year's Eve and again in May 2027.
At the base:
- Niagara's Daredevil Exhibit on the main level.
- The Legends of Niagara Falls 3D/4D Theatre.
- Shops, plus the entrances to the glass-enclosed Yellow Bug elevators, which the tower says reach the top in 52 seconds.
The building itself is 520 ft tall from its base; the 775-ft figure is the height above the falls, because the tower stands on higher ground.
Dining reservations and deck tickets
There are two ways up:
- Book a meal. The tower says reservations for the Revolving Dining Room are highly recommended, especially for dinner, and every dining reservation includes the ride to the top and observation-deck access. For many couples this is the simplest plan: one booking covers the view and the meal.
- Buy a Ride-to-the-Top ticket for the decks only. A Day & Night Pass lets you return the same day to see the illuminated falls and, in season, the fireworks. The Ultimate Combo Pass adds the 3D/4D theatre.
Ticket prices are on the Skylon Tower website; we don't sell them. Details of the menu and reservation policy are on the Revolving Dining Room page.
Drop-off and parking at the tower
The tower runs two lots on Robinson Street:
- Lot A is directly in front of the tower entrance and has a wheelchair-accessible ramp. Rates are seasonal: lower in winter, higher in spring, summer and fall, and higher still on peak holiday weekends.
- Lot B sits beside it and is connected to the entrance by a walkway. It accepts buses for Skylon visitors and allows overnight and extended stays. When no attendant is on duty it is metered, and the tower notes it is not security patrolled.
Neither lot offers in-and-out privileges, so a car that leaves pays again on return. The Niagara Falls Tourism parking guide compares the Skylon lots with others nearby.
For a chauffeured visit, the car comes to the front entrance off Robinson Street, you step out at the door, and the chauffeur either waits in the lot or leaves and returns at an agreed time. For a dinner reservation we usually set the return for the time your table is due to finish plus 15 minutes, and adjust by message if dessert runs long. With an hourly booking, the car stays with you all evening.
Best time to go up
- Late afternoon into dusk gives three views in one visit: daylight over the gorge, sunset colour on the mist and the first of the nightly illumination. Book a dinner table for about 45 minutes before sunset.
- Fireworks nights in summer are popular; the 2026 Niagara Parks fireworks series ran nightly at 10 pm from May 15 to October 12.
- Clear winter days often give the longest views toward Toronto and Buffalo. The Winter Festival of Lights, from November 14, 2026 to January 10, 2027, adds a lit route below along the Parkway and Fallsview.
- Cloudy or foggy days can hide the view entirely; check the sky before you go up.
Our best time to visit Niagara Falls guide goes month by month.
How long to allow
- Deck only: 45–75 minutes, including the elevator queue.
- Dinner in the Revolving Dining Room: about two hours at the table, plus time on the deck afterwards.
- Day & Night Pass: two short visits, one in daylight and one after dark, with dinner or Clifton Hill in between.
Accessibility and families
The tower states that it is committed to a barrier-free environment, and Lot A has a wheelchair-accessible ramp to the entrance. For specific questions about the elevators, decks or dining room, contact the tower before your visit. When you book the car, choose the wheelchair option and tell us whether the chair folds; our accessible transportation page explains the details we ask for. Child seats are selected in the booker, and the Summit Suite Buffet, when open, is the family-friendly option at the top.
Making it the centrepiece of an evening
The Skylon is one of the most requested stops for celebrations. Couples book it for anniversaries and proposals, then add a slow drive past the illuminated falls. A typical evening:
- 6:00 pm pickup at a Niagara-on-the-Lake inn or a Fallsview hotel.
- 6:30 pm drop-off at the Skylon entrance for a dinner reservation.
- 8:45 pm deck visit after dinner.
- 9:15 pm drive along the Niagara Parkway past Queen Victoria Park and the falls under lights.
- 10:00 pm return to the hotel.
Our anniversary and proposal limo page has more ideas, and the Niagara Falls night tour shows a longer after-dark route.
Pairing the tower with nearby sights
- Clifton Hill, about 1 km away, for the SkyWheel and a walk after dinner. See Clifton Hill.
- Fallsview Casino Resort, a few minutes along the escarpment, for a show at the OLG Stage or Avalon Theatre. See Fallsview Casino Resort.
- Journey Behind the Falls at Table Rock, for the view from below after the view from above. See Journey Behind the Falls.
- Niagara City Cruises, for the view from the water. A tower-boat-tunnels day covers all three angles.

Ways to reach the Skylon compared
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Walking from Fallsview or Clifton Hill | 10–20 min, uphill from the river | free | none | guests staying close by |
| WEGO bus | depends on stop and wait | 24-hour adult pass $16, 48-hour $20, as of 2026 | day bags | hotel guests on a WEGO line |
| Taxi | a few minutes in town | metered | trunk space | a one-way ride after dinner |
| Rideshare | varies with demand | surge pricing on busy evenings | trunk space | solo travellers off-peak |
| Driving yourself | drive plus parking | seasonal lot rates; no re-entry | your own car | people already driving |
| Private chauffeur | entrance to entrance | fixed fare via booker | sized to your group | dinner reservations, celebrations, groups, airport arrivals |
If you are staying a few blocks away and the weather is good, the walk is part of the fun, and a taxi back after dinner is fine. A pre-booked chauffeur wins when the evening has several stops, when you are celebrating and want the car at the door, when you are coming from Niagara-on-the-Lake or the airport, when a group of six or more wants to arrive together, or when you would rather not pay for a parking lot with no re-entry. More on the trade-offs in our chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare guide.
Who this suits

- Families: the buffet in season, the 3D/4D theatre, and a car seat already fitted for the ride home.

Frequently asked questions
How tall is the Skylon Tower?
The tower says its decks and dining room are 775 ft above the falls, while the structure itself is 520 ft tall from its base; the difference comes from the higher ground it stands on. The Yellow Bug elevators reach the top in about 52 seconds.
Do you need a reservation for the Skylon Revolving Dining Room?
The tower says reservations are highly recommended, especially for dinner. Each dining reservation includes the ride to the top and access to the observation decks, so you do not need a separate deck ticket if you are eating there.
Can you go up the Skylon Tower without eating?
Yes. A Ride-to-the-Top ticket gives access to the indoor and outdoor observation decks. The Day & Night Pass lets you return later the same day to see the falls lit up, and the Ultimate Combo Pass adds the 3D/4D theatre at the base.
Is the Skylon Tower open in winter?
Yes, the tower is open year-round. The Summit Suite Buffet is seasonal; for 2026 it closed on October 18 and reopens on New Year's Eve and in May 2027. The Revolving Dining Room and decks stay open, weather permitting the view.
Where do you park at the Skylon Tower?
The tower has Lot A in front of the entrance and Lot B beside it on Robinson Street. Rates change by season, there are no in-and-out privileges, and Lot B allows overnight stays. With a chauffeur you skip both lots; the car drops you at the door and returns when you are ready.
Is the Skylon Tower worth it?
For a first visit, most people find the height gives the clearest sense of how the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the gorge fit together. It works best on a clear day or at dusk. Combine it with a view from below, such as Journey Behind the Falls or the boat, for the full picture.
Can you see Toronto from the Skylon Tower?
On clear days, yes. The tower says the view reaches both Buffalo and Toronto, which lies across Lake Ontario. Haze, cloud and summer humidity often limit the distance, so crisp autumn and winter days usually give the longest views.
Can I book the Skylon for a proposal or anniversary?
Many couples do. Book the dining reservation with the tower, then book the car with us for the door-to-door ride and any extra stops, such as a drive past the illuminated falls. Tell us the occasion in the booking notes so the chauffeur can plan the timing quietly.
