Niagara District Airport (YCM) is the airfield most visitors drive past without noticing: a few hangars, a terminal and a 5,000-foot runway among the orchards and vineyards on Niagara Stone Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake. For private pilots, charter passengers and corporate flights, it is the closest landing to the wineries, the Shaw Festival and the Fallsview hotels. And since June 2026 it has a second role, as a departure point for Air Canada's Landline motorcoach to Toronto Pearson.
NiagaraFallsLimo.net meets arrivals at YCM and drives them to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, the Twenty Valley or across the border, at a fixed fare shown in the online booker before you pay. We also bring travellers to YCM for an outbound flight or a Landline departure.
Where is Niagara District Airport, and how far is it from Niagara Falls?
Niagara District Airport (YCM) is at 468 Niagara Stone Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake, about 12 km (7 mi) from the Old Town and 16–20 km (10–12 mi) from the Falls, usually 15–25 minutes by road. NiagaraFallsLimo.net meets private, charter and Landline arrivals; enter YCM and your destination in the online booker for a fixed fare.
Road-routing figures from the airport, with no traffic:
- Old Town Niagara-on-the-Lake (Queen Street): about 12 km, around 17 minutes.
- Downtown St. Catharines: about 12 km, around 15 minutes.
- Fallsview hotels: about 16 km, around 18 minutes.
- Table Rock and the Horseshoe Falls: about 20 km, around 23 minutes, mostly via Airport Road and the QEW.
Allow longer on summer weekends, when Niagara Stone Road carries winery traffic.
About Niagara District Airport
According to the airport's own website, Niagara District Airport is jointly owned by the City of Niagara Falls, the City of St. Catharines and the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and governed by a nine-member commission. The site describes a 5,000-foot runway on more than 360 acres, AvGas and jet fuel, chartered private and scenic flights, and one of Canada's oldest flight schools. It also states that Canada Border Services Agency customs is available seven days a week.
That last point matters for private flights arriving from the United States or further afield. Customs arrangements at a small airport of entry are made in advance; pilots and flight departments should confirm clearance with the airport or their handler before departure. We do not arrange customs, but we do time the pickup to your actual block-in and clearance.
Air Canada Landline: YCM as a gateway to Toronto Pearson
In March 2026, Air Canada announced that its Landline motorcoach service would link Niagara with Toronto Pearson from June 15, 2026, with three daily round trips that summer, departing from Niagara District Airport and continuing to the Marriott on the Falls. Air Canada says Landline passengers have their bags tagged to their final destination. The airport's website now says the service will run five times daily between YCM and Pearson beginning December 14, 2026.

For travellers, that changes the arithmetic. Instead of a two-hour car ride to Pearson, some Air Canada passengers can start their journey a short drive from home. Two common bookings with us:
- To the Landline: from a Niagara-on-the-Lake inn, a Niagara Falls hotel or a St. Catharines home to the YCM terminal, timed to the coach departure, with luggage handled.
- From the Landline: collection at YCM after an inbound Landline arrival, to anywhere in Niagara.
If you would rather go straight to the airport by car, that trip is on our Toronto Pearson to Niagara Falls page.
Private, charter and corporate arrivals
Most of our YCM work is private aviation: owners flying their own aircraft for a winery weekend, charter passengers on a light jet, corporate teams visiting Niagara operations, and wedding guests who flew in rather than driving.
What we do on these arrivals:
- Track the flight. Add the tail number or flight details in the booker; the pickup follows your actual arrival.
- Meet at the terminal or the agreed apron access point, as the airport and your handler permit. A name-board meet and greet is a booker option.
- Load bags, golf clubs and cases, then go straight to the hotel, the winery or the meeting.
Our private jet and FBO transfers page covers the same service at larger airports. Companies that fly in regularly can set up repeat bookings through corporate travel. Our chauffeurs keep client details private, and will sign an NDA if you ask.
Where YCM passengers go
Niagara-on-the-Lake inns and the Old Town
The Old Town is about 12 km away. Inns and hotels such as those on Queen Street and Picton Street have their own entrances; see Niagara-on-the-Lake inns and the Prince of Wales Hotel. Theatre-goers heading to the Shaw Festival can go straight from the runway to the theatre district.
The wineries of Niagara Stone Road
The airport sits on the same road as several well-known estates. Southbrook Vineyards is at 581 Niagara Stone Road, Lakeview Wine Co. at 1067, Trius at 1249, Pillitteri at 1696, Stratus at 2059 and Jackson-Triggs at 2145, according to the wineries' own listings. A by-the-hour booking can start at the airport and go straight into a tasting day; see Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries and our Niagara wine tour limo.
Niagara Falls and Fallsview
About 16–20 km, roughly 20 minutes. The car pulls into your hotel entrance; no parking, no shuttle.
Across the border
The Lewiston–Queenston Bridge is close to YCM, which makes Lewiston and Niagara Falls, New York, quick to reach. The chauffeur drives you over the bridge as part of normal service; every passenger must carry their own valid documents. See the Lewiston–Queenston Bridge guide. The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission operates that bridge. Crossing times are never guaranteed.
Flying out of YCM: timing the drop-off
Departures are where small airports catch people out. There is no long terminal walk at YCM, but private flights still have a departure slot, fuel and passenger paperwork, and the Landline coach leaves on schedule whether or not every passenger is aboard. We suggest:
- Private and charter departures: arrive at the time your pilot or handler asks for, then add the drive time above plus a margin for Niagara Stone Road traffic on summer weekends.
- Landline departures: follow Air Canada's check-in guidance for your itinerary, and book the pickup so you reach the terminal with time to spare. Early-morning departures from Niagara Falls hotels are quiet on the road; late-afternoon ones in harvest season are not.
- From a winery lunch to the runway: give yourself a clear hour between the last tasting and wheels-up.
YCM compared with Niagara's other airports
| Airport | Approx. distance to the Falls | Typical use for Niagara visitors |
|---|---|---|
| Niagara District (YCM) | 16–20 km | Private, charter and flight-school flights; Landline coach to Pearson |

When a taxi or rideshare is fine, and when to pre-book
A taxi or rideshare is fine if you are one or two people with a bag each, arriving at a predictable hour, going a few kilometres into Niagara-on-the-Lake, and happy to wait for a car to arrive at a small airfield.
Pre-book a chauffeur when you are arriving on a private or charter flight and want the car at the terminal when the door opens; you are a group with golf clubs or luggage; you are heading into a wine-tasting day; you are crossing the border; or you are catching an early Landline departure and need to be at the terminal on time.

- Standard Sedan (Cadillac XTS or similar): for up to three people with two large bags.
- Mercedes-Benz E / S-Class: a pair of passengers and their two bags.
- Executive Black SUV (Escalade / Navigator): up to 6 passengers and 6 bags; the usual choice for aircraft passengers with luggage.
