The Niagara golf courses sit close together but rarely next to each other: one on the Parkway south of the falls, one above the gorge to the north, two more out by Niagara-on-the-Lake, a vineyard course in St. Catharines and a casino-owned layout across the river in New York. A golf weekend here often means two or three courses, a winery lunch and dinner somewhere you do not want to drive home from. NiagaraFallsLimo.net gives you one chauffeur, a vehicle sized for clubs, and a fixed fare from the booker before you pay.
How do you get around Niagara's golf courses without a car?
NiagaraFallsLimo.net drives golfers and their clubs between Niagara hotels, Toronto Pearson (roughly 120–125 km away, usually about an hour and a half off-peak) and courses such as Legends on the Niagara, about 9 km from Fallsview. Book point to point or by the hour in the online booker, count golf bags as luggage, and see the fixed fare first.
A standard SUV carries up to six passengers and six bags, which in golf terms usually means four players with full bags and room for shoes and a carry-on each. That simple fact drives most of the planning below.
The courses we drive to most
Niagara has many more courses than this; the regional tourism body says the area has over 40. These are the ones guests ask for by name. Book tee times directly with the club; we handle the getting there.
Legends on the Niagara (Niagara Parks)
Legends on the Niagara, at 9561 Niagara Parkway, is the big public golf complex run by Niagara Parks: two 18-hole championship courses and a 9-hole course on more than 1,000 acres, certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. It is about 9 km (6 mi) south of the Fallsview hotels, usually 12 to 18 minutes along the Parkway. Niagara Parks says no membership is needed to play, and tee times are booked through the Niagara Parks golf site.
Whirlpool Golf Course (Niagara Parks)
North of the falls, beside the Niagara River gorge at 3351 Niagara River Parkway, Whirlpool was designed by Stanley Thompson and opened in 1951. It has its own restaurant, the Whirlpool Pub + Lounge, and rents clubs, which is useful for travellers who did not fly with a set. Details on the Whirlpool Golf Course page. From Fallsview it is about 7 km (4 mi), roughly 10 to 15 minutes.
Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club
At 143 Front Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake, this full-length 9-hole course runs along the Lake Ontario shore and dates from 1875, with a waterfront restaurant. It is about 23 km (14 mi) from Fallsview, 25 to 35 minutes, and a few minutes' drive from the Old Town inns; our Niagara-on-the-Lake inns guide lists places to stay within reach.
Royal Niagara Golf Club
Royal Niagara, at 1 Niagara-on-the-Green Boulevard, has three nine-hole courses set between the Welland Canal, the Niagara Escarpment and the Bruce Trail, with a main layout over 7,000 yards. It is about 14 km (9 mi) from Fallsview, roughly 15 to 20 minutes via the QEW.
Rockway Vineyards and The Hawk
Rockway Vineyards Golf Club at 3290 Ninth Street in St. Catharines plays through a working vineyard and has a wine boutique and restaurant. The Hawk Niagara Falls Golf Club, the former Peninsula Lakes, is at 569 Highway 20 West in Fenwick, built on an old quarry with escarpment views. Both are easy add-ons to a wine-country day. The regional tourism body's guide to scenic Niagara golf courses profiles these and others.
Seneca Hickory Stick (Lewiston, New York)
Across the river, Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino lists the Hickory Stick Golf Club among its amenities on the Seneca Niagara site. The course is in the Town of Lewiston, about 16 km from Fallsview by road but on the far side of the border, usually reached by the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. Every golfer needs their own document for entry to the United States, and the return crossing comes with its own inspection. Our Seneca Niagara Casino guide covers the resort.
Distances from the Fallsview hotels

| Course | Distance | Typical drive off-peak |
|---|---|---|
| Whirlpool Golf Course | about 7 km (4 mi) | 10 – 15 min |
| Legends on the Niagara | about 9 km (6 mi) | 12 – 18 min |
| Royal Niagara Golf Club | about 14 km (9 mi) | 15 – 20 min |
| Seneca Hickory Stick, Lewiston NY | about 16 km (10 mi) | 20 – 25 min plus border |
| Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club | about 23 km (14 mi) | 25 – 35 min |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to any of the above | 110 – 135 km (68 – 84 mi) | 1 h 20 – 1 h 50; allow 2 h+ on summer Fridays |
Course distances are measured from Fallsview Boulevard; times are rounded and assume no event traffic.
Flying in with clubs
Many golf groups land at Toronto Pearson with oversized baggage, which arrives on a separate belt and takes longer to collect. Add your flight number when booking; the chauffeur tracks the landing and, with meet & greet selected, waits inside arrivals with a name board while you collect the bags. The Toronto Pearson transfer page explains the pickup points. Groups that start in Toronto rather than at the airport can book a straight city-to-city ride to the first tee.
Getting the vehicle right for golf bags
This is where golf trips go wrong, so here is the plain version. Golf travel bags take the space of large suitcases. Enter every golf bag as a bag in the booker and pick a class whose capacity covers the total.
- Standard Sedan (Cadillac XTS or similar): up to 3 passengers but only 2 large bags. Fine for two golfers; not for three.
- Standard SUV (Suburban / Yukon XL) or Executive Black SUV (Escalade / Navigator): up to 6 passengers and 6 bags. The standard choice for a foursome.
- Executive Jet Sprinter: up to 6 passengers and 2 bags. Comfortable, but not a golf-bag carrier.
- Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz): carries up to 12 people but only carry-on bags. Great for a group going to dinner, not for a group carrying clubs.
- Stretch limousines and the party bus: minimal or limited luggage space, so not suited to clubs.
For eight or more golfers with bags, book two SUVs or ask for a coach, which handles both people and luggage. All classes are "or similar" with the model confirmed at booking; see the fleet for layouts. Bigger outings are covered on our group transportation page.
Sample golf weekends
Two courses, one winery
Day one: Pearson pickup at noon, straight to Whirlpool for an afternoon round, hotel check-in in Fallsview. Day two: Legends in the morning, then lunch at a winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with the car booked "By the hour" so it waits. Our Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries guide and wine tour limo service help plan the afternoon.
A corporate golf day
Clients collected from three Toronto hotels, a shotgun start at Royal Niagara, dinner at a winery restaurant, everyone dropped home. One booking, several pickup points, a single invoice. Our corporate transportation page explains account bookings.
A cross-border round
A morning at Seneca Hickory Stick, lunch on the New York side, then back across for an evening at the falls. Plan around the border: documents for everyone and slack in the schedule.
The nineteenth hole, and the drive home
The best reason to book a chauffeur for golf is the end of the day. Our vehicles are alcohol-free: Niagara Region's vehicle-for-hire by-law forbids the driver to permit anyone to drink in the vehicle, and Ontario's liquor law has no limousine exception. So the clubhouse beer or the winery tasting happens there, and the drive home happens with a chauffeur who never drinks. Nobody in the foursome has to be the designated driver.
Ways to do a Niagara golf day compared
| Mode | Door-to-door time (Fallsview to Legends) | Cost note | Clubs | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rental car | 12 – 18 min, plus parking | Rental, fuel, insurance | Depends on the car; four full bags rarely fit a sedan | Golfers who will not drink and want total freedom |
| Rideshare | 12 – 18 min plus a wait; many cars cannot take bags | Surge pricing at busy times | Hit or miss | One player with a small carry bag |
| Taxi or van taxi | Similar, if one is free | Metered | A van fits bags | Short single transfers |
| Hotel or club shuttle | Where offered, on its schedule | Set by the hotel or club | Usually yes | Guests whose hotel and course have a link |
| Private chauffeur (NiagaraFallsLimo.net) | 12 – 18 min, door to bag drop | Fixed fare via booker, shown before payment | SUV carries six bags | Foursomes, airport arrivals with clubs, multi-course weekends, winery stops |
If you are a single player with a carry bag and one short hop, a taxi is fine. If your group has a car big enough for everyone's clubs and someone happy not to drink, drive yourselves. A pre-booked chauffeur wins when a foursome lands at Pearson with travel bags, when the day includes a winery or a border, when you want four players and four bags in one vehicle without a rideshare driver refusing the load, and when everyone would like a drink after the round. The chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare guide sets out the details.
Who books golf transportation
- Individuals on business trips sneak in a round between meetings with a sedan and their own clubs.
- Couples pair nine holes at the lakeside club with dinner in the Old Town.
- Families with a junior golfer book an SUV; child and booster seats are in the booker for the younger ones along for the ride.
- Groups, from buddy trips to tournaments, use SUVs or coaches; the groups page explains multi-vehicle bookings. Every other trip type is listed under our services, including the hourly chauffeur option.
How to book a golf transfer in 3 steps
- Enter the trip. Pickup (airport terminal, Toronto address or hotel), the course as drop-off, date and time. Add flight numbers for airport arrivals.
- Choose the vehicle. Each class shows its fixed fare; check its bag capacity against your number of golf bags.
- Add details and pay. Passengers, bags, child seats, meet & greet and extras, then secure payment; confirmation by email.
Cancelling is free with more than 72 hours' notice before the scheduled pickup; after that it costs 10% (72 hours or less), 50% (48 hours or less) or 100% (24 hours or less, or a no-show). Weather can close a course; if your round is rained out, tell the desk as early as you can. The how-to-book guide walks through each step.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best golf courses in Niagara?
Visitors most often ask for Legends on the Niagara and Whirlpool, both run by Niagara Parks, Royal Niagara beside the Welland Canal, the 1875 lakeside course at Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club, and Seneca Hickory Stick in Lewiston, New York. Rockway Vineyards and The Hawk are other well-known choices.
Can a limo carry golf clubs?
Stretch limousines have very little luggage space, so they are not the right choice for clubs. A Standard or Executive Black SUV carries up to six passengers and six bags, which suits a foursome with full travel bags. Enter each golf bag in the booker as a bag.
How far is Legends on the Niagara from Niagara Falls?
Legends on the Niagara, at 9561 Niagara Parkway, is about 9 km (6 mi) south of the Fallsview hotel district, usually 12 to 18 minutes along the Parkway. From Toronto Pearson it is roughly 120 to 130 km.
Do Niagara Parks golf courses need a membership?
No. Niagara Parks says no membership is required to play its courses, and tee times are booked through its golf website. Book the tee time first, then book the car to arrive with time to check in and warm up.
Can we have a beer in the car after golf?
No. Our cars are dry: the Region's licensing by-law bars drivers from allowing drinking on board, and Ontario offers no limousine exemption. Enjoy it at the clubhouse; the chauffeur, who never drinks, drives everyone home.
Can you play golf in New York on a Niagara trip?
Yes. Seneca Hickory Stick in Lewiston is about 16 km from Fallsview by road, across the border. Every player must carry a passport or other document the US accepts at land crossings, and the schedule should allow time for inspection both ways.
How much is golf transportation in Niagara?
The booker shows the fixed all-in fare for your exact pickup, course and vehicle before you pay. A foursome sharing an SUV divides one fare, and an all-day booking by the hour covers several courses and a dinner stop.
