A Pearson airport to Niagara Falls transfer covers about 125–135 km (78–84 mi) on the Queen Elizabeth Way, and with NiagaraFallsLimo.net it is one car, one chauffeur and one fixed fare from the moment you clear the arrivals hall. This page is the reservations desk's own briefing on the trip: where the car meets you, which highways it takes, how long it usually runs, and when the train or bus is honestly the better call.
How do I get from Toronto Pearson to Niagara Falls?
The most direct way from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Niagara Falls, Ontario is a pre-booked car on the QEW: about 125–135 km (78–84 mi), usually 1 h 20 – 1 h 40 off-peak. NiagaraFallsLimo.net meets you at Terminal 1 or 3, tracks your flight and shows a fixed all-in fare in the online booker before you pay.
The alternatives are the UP Express to Union Station plus a GO train (three hours or more), an intercity bus from Terminal 1, or a rideshare or taxi priced at the moment you ask. Below, each step of the chauffeured trip, then every option side by side.
Pearson to Niagara Falls: the key facts in one place
- Distance: about 125–135 km (78–84 mi) from Pearson to the Fallsview and Clifton Hill hotel districts, depending on your hotel.
- Typical drive time: 1 h 20 – 1 h 40 off-peak. Allow 2 h or more on a summer Friday afternoon, a long-weekend Thursday or Friday, or in snow.
- Main route: Highway 427 south to the QEW, then the QEW west and south around the lake through Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Grimsby and St. Catharines into Niagara Falls.
- Pre-arranged pickup points at the airport: Toronto Pearson designates Terminal 1 Door A and Terminal 3 Door A for pre-arranged taxis and limousines (Toronto Pearson pre-arranged services).
- Meet & greet: a booker option in which your chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board.
- Flight tracking: included on every airport pickup, so an early or late landing moves the pickup time with it.
- Border: none. Pearson and Niagara Falls, Ontario are both in Canada. A border only comes into play if you continue to the New York side.

Which terminal you land at, and where the car meets you
Toronto Pearson has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Your boarding pass or airline app shows which one you will use. The free Terminal Link train connects the two and also serves the UP Express station, which sits in Terminal 1 beside the Terminal Link platform.

For a chauffeured pickup there are two ways to meet:
- Curbside at Door A. Pearson routes pre-arranged rides to Door A at Terminal 1 and Door A at Terminal 3. You collect your bags, message or call the number on your confirmation, and walk out to the car. The airport also notes that you can tell the dispatcher in the designated area that you are waiting for a pre-arranged company.
- Inside arrivals with a name board. Choose meet & greet in the booker and your chauffeur waits where passengers exit the customs hall or the domestic baggage area. We suggest it for first-time visitors, families and long-haul arrivals. Our meet and greet service page explains exactly where the chauffeur stands.
Either way, the driver knows your name and your luggage goes straight from the cart into the trunk.
Customs, bags and the right pickup time
You do not need to guess when you will be through the airport. Enter your flight number in the booker and we track the arrival.
International passengers clear the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) arrivals process before reaching the public hall. That time varies by flight, so we do not promise one; we time the chauffeur to your actual landing.
Domestic arrivals walk straight from the gate to baggage claim; passengers arriving from a US airport go through CBSA like any international arrival.
Switch your phone on as soon as you land, tell us if a bag is missing (the car waits while you file the report), and list golf bags, strollers or ski bags in the booker, because they change which vehicle class fits.
The drive: Highway 427, the QEW and two Skyways
From Pearson the chauffeur heads south on Highway 427 to the Queen Elizabeth Way, known locally as the QEW. The QEW is the spine of the whole trip. It follows the western shore of Lake Ontario through Mississauga and Oakville, crosses the Burlington Bay James N. Allan Skyway into Hamilton, runs below the Niagara Escarpment past Grimsby and the Beamsville wineries, then crosses the Garden City Skyway in St. Catharines before turning south toward Niagara Falls.
Inside the city, the exit depends on your hotel: Highway 420 leads toward the Rainbow Bridge, Clifton Hill and Falls Avenue, and your chauffeur picks the best exit for your drop-off.
Highway 407 ETR is the alternative to the busiest stretches of the QEW. It is a privately run toll highway with no toll booths: cameras and transponders record each trip and the bill goes to the plate holder by mail. Visitors who rent a car are often surprised by that bill weeks later. In a chauffeured car you never deal with it, and the fare the booker shows is the fare you pay.
Where the time goes. Weekday afternoons around Oakville and Burlington, summer Fridays toward Niagara, Sunday evenings back to Toronto, and both Skyways in wind or snow. A chauffeur who drives this road daily leaves earlier, not faster.
Every way from Pearson to Niagara Falls, compared
The table below compares the realistic choices for a traveller with luggage. Times are door to door from the arrivals level to a Niagara Falls hotel.
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private chauffeur (NiagaraFallsLimo.net) | 1 h 20 – 1 h 40 off-peak, longer at rush hour | Fixed fare via the booker, shown before you pay | Up to 6 large bags in an SUV; more in a Sprinter | Families, groups, late arrivals, anyone with luggage or car seats |
| Rideshare (Uber, Lyft, Hopp) | Similar drive time once the car arrives | App price at the time of request, surge pricing possible | Depends on the car that turns up | Solo travellers with one bag who are comfortable waiting at the rideshare zone |
| Airport taxi from the stand | Similar drive time | Set by the stand operator; confirm before you leave | Sedan or minivan, first available | Travellers who did not pre-book anything |
| UP Express + GO train | About 3 h or more including the change at Union Station | Separate UP Express and GO fares; GO sells GO+WEGO combo tickets | You carry it through Union Station | Light packers, rail fans, travellers on a fixed budget with time to spare |
| Intercity bus (FlixBus) | About 1 h 30 minimum on the road, plus waiting time | Fares listed from $20.98 as of October 2026 | Hold luggage allowance per ticket | Solo travellers and students with flexible plans |
| Rental car | Drive time plus rental counter and return | Daily rate, fuel, parking at the hotel, possible 407 ETR billing | Your choice of car | Visitors who want to drive themselves for several days |
The GO train itself takes roughly 2 h 20 – 2 h 35 from Union Station to Niagara Falls on the published timetables, which is why the rail option rarely beats three hours from the airport. GO advertises service to Niagara Falls seven days a week (GO Transit to Niagara Falls). For the full rail and bus picture, read our guide to getting to Niagara by train and bus.
When the train or the bus is the better choice
We would rather you trust this page than book a car you do not need. Public transport is the sensible option when you are alone with a carry-on and no deadline, when your timing suits a GO train or you were staying downtown anyway, or when budget matters more than time.
UP Express trains leave Pearson every 15 minutes and take under half an hour to Union Station (UP Express). From there, the GO trip to Niagara Falls is long but comfortable. The FlixBus route lists stops at Pearson Terminal 1, Table Rock and the Niagara Falls Transit Terminal on Erie Avenue (FlixBus Toronto to Niagara Falls). A rideshare is also perfectly reasonable for one person with one bag on a quiet weekday.
When a pre-booked chauffeur wins
The car earns its place when the trip has more moving parts than one traveller and one bag:
- Families. Child, toddler and booster seats are booker options, installed before you get in. Ontario law requires the right seat for each child.
- Groups. One Sprinter for twelve is one booking and one wait, not four rideshares arriving at different times.
- Late flights. The last train connections do not wait for a delayed flight. Your chauffeur does, because the pickup follows the tracked arrival.
- Heavy luggage and no surprises. Golf bags and three weeks of suitcases fit in an SUV, and the fixed fare is shown before payment, with no surge at 11 p.m. on a Friday.
- Straight to the door. The train station on Bridge Street is several kilometres from most Fallsview hotels and Niagara-on-the-Lake inns.
If you are weighing the car against a taxi more generally, our chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare guide and the Niagara Falls taxi alternative page go into more detail.
Choosing a vehicle for the Pearson run
Each class shows its own fixed fare in the booker; models are "or similar". See the full fleet.
| Vehicle class | Passengers | Bags | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Sedan (Cadillac XTS or similar) | up to 3 | 2 large | Couples and solo business travellers |
| Mercedes-Benz E / S-Class | up to 2 | 2 | Executives, anniversaries |
| Standard SUV (Suburban / Yukon XL) | up to 6 | 6 | Families with car seats and luggage |
| Executive Black SUV (Escalade / Navigator) | up to 6 | 6 | Families and small groups who want the premium cabin |
| Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz) | up to 12 | carry-on only | Groups with light bags |
| Executive Jet Sprinter | up to 6 | 2 | Small groups who want a lounge-style cabin |
Mercedes-Maybach, Rolls-Royce and stretch limousines can also be booked from Pearson, with availability confirmed at booking. For a group larger than one Sprinter, book two vehicles or ask about a coach on request.
Pearson to Niagara-on-the-Lake, wine country or the US side
Not everyone landing at Pearson is staying near the Falls. A few common variations:
- Niagara-on-the-Lake. About 120 km (75 mi), usually 1 h 20 – 1 h 35 off-peak, leaving the QEW before the Falls. Our Toronto to Niagara-on-the-Lake route covers the inns and Old Town drop-offs, and the Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries guide is the natural next read.
- A winery stop on the way. The QEW passes the Beamsville Bench, so a winery lunch is an easy multi-stop addition.
- Niagara Falls, New York. Your chauffeur continues across one of the Niagara bridges. Every passenger needs their own valid documents to enter the United States; check what you need to cross into the US and our cross-border car service before you travel.
- Private aviation. If you are landing at an FBO on the Pearson field rather than the main terminals, see private jet and FBO transfers.
The return trip: Niagara Falls to Pearson departures
Going back, the same road runs in reverse, and the main question is when to leave. For most domestic flights, leaving a Niagara Falls hotel about three and a half to four hours before departure gives the drive, check-in and security a comfortable margin. On summer Sunday afternoons, the QEW toward Toronto fills up early; leave sooner.
Flights to the United States clear US Customs and Border Protection preclearance at Pearson, in both terminals, before you board. Allow extra time for that step.
Your chauffeur drops you at the departures level of your terminal.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best way to get from Pearson Airport to Niagara Falls?
For most travellers with luggage, a pre-booked car is the most practical: about 125–135 km in one vehicle, usually 1 h 20 – 1 h 40 off-peak, straight to the hotel door. If you travel light and have time, UP Express to Union Station plus a GO train works, but plan on three hours or more.
Is there a train from Toronto Pearson Airport to Niagara Falls?
Not directly. The UP Express runs from Pearson's Terminal 1 to Union Station in downtown Toronto every 15 minutes, and GO trains run from Union to Niagara Falls station on Bridge Street. You change trains at Union, and the GO leg alone takes about 2 h 20 – 2 h 35 on recent timetables.
How much is a limo from Toronto Pearson to Niagara Falls?
It depends on the vehicle class, the date and the exact pickup and drop-off. Enter the trip in the online booker and it shows the fixed all-in fare for each class before you pay, so you can compare a sedan, an SUV and a Sprinter side by side without a phone call or a quote form.
How long is the drive from Toronto airport to Niagara Falls?
Usually 1 h 20 – 1 h 40 when traffic is moving, over about 125–135 km (78–84 mi). Weekday afternoon rush hour through Oakville and Burlington, summer Fridays and snow can push it past two hours. Your chauffeur builds that into the pickup timing on the way back to the airport.
Can I take an Uber from Pearson to Niagara Falls?
Yes. Toronto Pearson lists Uber, Lyft and Hopp as permitted to pick up at the airport. The price is calculated by the app when you request, and it can surge at busy times. A rideshare also cannot install a child seat for you, which matters for families with young children.
Where do I meet my driver at Toronto Pearson?
Pearson's pre-arranged pickup points are Door A at Terminal 1 and Door A at Terminal 3. If you add meet & greet in the booker, your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals area with a name board instead. Your email confirmation spells out which option you booked and how to contact the chauffeur.
Is it better to fly into Toronto or Buffalo for Niagara Falls?
Buffalo Niagara International is much closer, about 40–50 km from the Canadian falls, but you cross the border by road. Pearson is farther, about 130 km, but has no border on the way to the Canadian side. Compare both on our Buffalo airport page.
