Hotels · attractions · airports · bridges

Door-to-door chauffeured cars between every Fallsview and Clifton Hill hotel, the wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake, all four Niagara border bridges, Toronto Pearson, Buffalo Niagara, Hamilton and Billy Bishop airports, and the attractions on both sides of the river.

Two shows run over the Niagara Gorge. The first, the Falls Illumination, colours the American and Horseshoe Falls every night of the year from dusk until the early hours. The second, the Niagara Falls fireworks, launches from inside the gorge on summer nights and on winter festival weekends. Both are free, both are best seen from Queen Victoria Park, and both end with thousands of people leaving at the same moment. NiagaraFallsLimo.net plans the part of the evening that happens around them: dinner, the drop-off, where to stand, and a car waiting when the last shell fades.

When are the Niagara Falls fireworks, and how do you get there by car?

The 2026 summer Niagara Falls fireworks ran nightly at 10 pm from May 15 to October 12; winter fireworks return at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays from November 14, then nightly from December 18 to January 2. NiagaraFallsLimo.net drops you at Queen Victoria Park, about 2 km from Fallsview hotels. Book the pickup in the online booker at a fixed fare.

As of late October 2026, the summer series has finished for the year and the next fireworks are the Winter Festival of Lights displays, which begin with the festival on November 14, 2026. Niagara Parks had not posted 2027 summer dates when we checked; the 2026 pattern, nightly from mid-May to the Thanksgiving weekend in October, gives you a reasonable planning guide until it does.

The 2026–27 night calendar at a glance

  • Summer fireworks 2026 (finished): nightly at 10:00 pm, Friday, May 15 to Monday, October 12, 2026, with extended displays on July 1 and July 4, weather permitting.
  • Special displays: for America 250, Niagara Parks lit the Falls red, white and blue with themed fireworks from July 2 to 6, 2026.
  • Winter fireworks: at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays from November 14, then nightly from December 18 to January 2, during the Winter Festival of Lights (November 14, 2026 to January 10, 2027).
  • Illumination: every night of the year, starting between 4:30 pm and 8:30 pm depending on the month and running until 1 am or 2 am.

Shows can be cancelled at short notice, usually because of strong winds that could push fireworks off course. Niagara Parks posts notices on its social channels and runs a recorded cancellation message; the official fireworks page has the details.

Where to watch from

The fireworks are set off within the Niagara Gorge, between the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls. Niagara Parks recommends:

Niagara Falls illuminated at night colourful lights
Niagara Falls illuminated at night colourful lights
  1. Queen Victoria Park. Anywhere on the main grassy area or along the parapet wall above the river. This is the main viewing area and the busiest.
  2. The water's edge at Journey Behind the Falls, at Table Rock, for a view from close to the brink.
  3. The terrace at Queen Victoria Place Restaurant, for a panoramic view with dinner; reservations are recommended.
  4. The Niagara Parks Power Station Tunnel deck, which Niagara Parks offers as an exclusive spot to watch from the base of the Falls during Power Station at Night (ticketed).

Two more options our guests like:

  • A Falls-view hotel room. Many of the Fallsview hotels look straight down on the gorge. Ask the hotel for a room facing the Falls when you book.
  • A table high up. The Skylon Tower Revolving Dining Room sits 775 ft above the Falls and turns a full circle every hour.

Where the car drops you and picks you up

Drop-off. For Queen Victoria Park, your chauffeur stops near Queen Victoria Place, at the park entrance on the Niagara Parkway, or at Table Rock Centre at the south end. Both put you on the riverside promenade within a few minutes' walk of the parapet.

Parking. Niagara Parks lists the closest lots as Queen Victoria Place (6349 Niagara Parkway, pay-and-display, limited spaces) and Falls Parking, Lot A (6635 Niagara Parkway, gated, across from Table Rock). Lots fill quickly before a summer show, and overnight parking is not allowed in any Niagara Parks lot. See the Niagara Parks parking page.

After the show. This is the moment that matters. When the last firework fades, most of the crowd moves at once, and the Parkway, Clifton Hill and the Fallsview roads slow to a crawl for a while. Three things make it easy:

  • Agree a meeting point in advance: a named building such as Queen Victoria Place, not "the park".
  • Stay ten minutes. The Falls stay lit long after the fireworks end, and the crowd thins quickly.
  • Keep the car with you. On a By the hour booking the chauffeur parks and walks to meet you, or texts the pickup spot. See hourly chauffeur service.

The nightly illumination: what lights the Falls

The Niagara Falls Illumination Board has financed and operated the lighting since 1925, and celebrated its 100th anniversary on February 24, 2025. Its members include both cities named Niagara Falls, Ontario Power Generation, the New York Power Authority, New York State Parks and Niagara Parks.

The lights themselves sit in three places, according to the Niagara Parks illumination page:

  • The Illumination Tower, next to Queen Victoria Place.
  • The roof of Table Rock Centre, at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls.
  • Deep in the Niagara Gorge, across from the American Falls.

In 2016 the old Xenon lamps were replaced with LED lighting, which Niagara Parks says delivers more than twice the previous light levels, a wider colour spectrum and programmable effects.

What time the lights come on

Niagara Parks publishes a month-by-month schedule. For the rest of 2026 and early 2027:

DatesIllumination hours
October 16 – October 316:00 pm – 2:00 am
November 1 – December 314:30 pm – 2:00 am
January 1 – January 315:00 pm – 1:00 am
February 1 – March 115:30 pm – 1:00 am
March 12 – March 317:30 pm – 2:00 am
April 1 – May 148:00 pm – 2:00 am
May 15 – July 318:30 pm – 2:00 am

Late summer and early fall start times fall between those, from about 7 pm in early September; check the official schedule for August.

Special colours and dates

Registered charities can request the Falls be lit in their colours for a significant date, and the Illumination Board publishes a calendar. Most special illuminations run in 15-minute slots, typically starting at 10:00 pm or 10:15 pm. Remembrance Day (November 11) and national days bring their own colours. If you are planning a proposal or an anniversary around a particular colour, check the calendar first; our anniversary and proposal limo page has ideas for the rest of the evening.

Planning an evening: dinner, lights, fireworks

A summer fireworks night, as we usually drive it:

  1. 19:00 – Pickup at your hotel or in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
  2. 19:30 – Dinner in Fallsview, on Clifton Hill or at Queen Victoria Place.
  3. 21:00 – Walk to the parapet as the illumination begins.
  4. 22:00 – Fireworks.
  5. 22:20 – Meet your chauffeur at the agreed point; back to the hotel, or on to Fallsview Casino Resort.

For a winter Friday or Saturday, move it earlier: dinner at 6, the illuminated Falls, fireworks at 8, then a slow drive through the festival lights. Our Winter Festival of Lights page covers that route, and our Niagara Falls at night tour packages the whole evening.

A word on celebrations: there is no drinking in our vehicles, even on a birthday or engagement night. Niagara Region's vehicle-for-hire by-law bars drivers from permitting it, and the province's liquor act makes no allowance for limousines. Raise the glass at dinner; a sealed bottle can be added in the booker as a gift to take away.

A full day that ends with fireworks

The fireworks make a natural finale to a day of sightseeing:

  • Morning: Journey Behind the Falls and the Power Station at Table Rock.
  • Midday: the gorge attractions north of the city, or a winery lunch in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
  • Afternoon: rest at the hotel.
  • Evening: dinner, illumination and fireworks.

Our private Niagara Falls tour builds a day like this with one car and one chauffeur throughout.

Travelling from Toronto, Niagara-on-the-Lake or across the border at night

  • Niagara-on-the-Lake: about 24 km (15 mi) to Queen Victoria Park, usually 30 minutes along the Parkway. Many guests stay in the old town and drive in just for the show; see our Niagara Falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake route.
  • Downtown Toronto: about 130 km (81 mi), usually 1 h 30 – 1 h 45 off-peak. After a 10 pm show you would be home after midnight; staying the night is often the easier plan.
  • Toronto Pearson (YYZ): about 122 km (76 mi); our Pearson to Niagara Falls transfer works well for a late-afternoon arrival straight to dinner.
  • Niagara Falls, New York: the Rainbow Bridge lands about 3.4 km (2.1 mi) from Queen Victoria Park. CBP lists the Rainbow Bridge as open 24 hours a day, so a late return to the US side is possible; the NEXUS-only Whirlpool Rapids Bridge closes at 11 pm. Read the Rainbow Bridge guide and our cross-border car service.

The chauffeur crosses with you, and each passenger carries their own valid passport or accepted document. We never promise how long a crossing will take, especially late on a summer night.

The honest verdict. If your hotel is in Fallsview or on Clifton Hill, walk down; it is the quickest way in and the crowd makes driving pointless for a few hundred metres. The Incline helps with the hill. A pre-booked chauffeur makes the most sense when you are coming from further away (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Toronto, the New York side), when you have small children who will be asleep by 10:30, or when you would rather not compete for an app ride with everyone else on the parapet. Our chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare guide explains the trade-offs.

Who it suits

Individuals can wander the parapet and leave whenever they like. Couples often make this the evening of the trip, with dinner, the colours and a quiet ride back; see Niagara Falls for couples. Families should consider the earlier winter shows at 8 pm; a Standard SUV with child seats means sleepy children go straight from the park to the car. Groups up to 16 can travel together in a Stretch SUV Limousine or up to 12 in a Sprinter, with availability confirmed at booking.

Booking a fireworks evening in 3 steps

  1. Map the evening. Pickup at your hotel or home, a stop at your restaurant, then Queen Victoria Place. Choose By the hour if you want the car to wait through the show.
  2. Choose the vehicle. Every class shows its fixed fare before you pay: a Mercedes S-Class for two, an Executive Black SUV for six, a Sprinter for twelve.
  3. Add the details. Passengers, child seats and any extras, then pay securely. A confirmation email follows.

Our booking guide explains each step, and the attractions hub has more to add to the day.

Frequently asked questions

What time are the Niagara Falls fireworks?

In summer 2026 they ran nightly at 10:00 pm from May 15 to October 12, with extended displays on July 1 and July 4. During the Winter Festival of Lights, fireworks run at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays from November 14, then nightly from December 18 to January 2. All shows are weather permitting and can be cancelled for strong winds.

Are the Niagara Falls fireworks free?

Yes. Niagara Parks says it is always free to watch the Falls Fireworks Series from Queen Victoria Park and the surrounding promenade. The series is supported by Niagara Falls Tourism and the Niagara Falls Canada Hotel Association. Some viewing spots, such as the Power Station Tunnel deck or a restaurant terrace, need a ticket or reservation.

Where is the best place to watch the fireworks at Niagara Falls?

Niagara Parks recommends Queen Victoria Park, on the main lawn or along the parapet wall, plus the water's edge at Journey Behind the Falls and the terrace at Queen Victoria Place Restaurant. A Falls-view hotel room in Fallsview is the most comfortable option. Arrive 30–45 minutes early on summer weekends for a spot at the wall.

What time do the lights come on at Niagara Falls?

It depends on the month. In late October the illumination starts at 6 pm; from November 1 to December 31 it starts at 4:30 pm; in January at 5 pm. It runs until 2 am most of the year and until 1 am from January to March 11. Niagara Parks publishes the full schedule.

Can you see the fireworks from the US side?

The fireworks launch from inside the gorge between the American and Horseshoe Falls, and Niagara Parks' recommended viewing areas are all on the Canadian side. If you are staying in Niagara Falls, New York, the Rainbow Bridge is about 3.4 km from Queen Victoria Park. Everyone in the car needs valid documents to cross.

How do I get back to my hotel after the fireworks?

Fallsview and Clifton Hill guests usually walk or take the Falls Incline Railway. If you are staying further out, pre-book a pickup at a named meeting point such as Queen Victoria Place. On an hourly booking your chauffeur waits nearby, so you avoid queuing for a taxi or an app ride with the departing crowd.

How much is a chauffeur for a fireworks night?

The booker shows the fixed all-in fare for your pickup, stops and vehicle before you pay. There is no surge when the crowd leaves and no meter running in traffic. For a full evening of dinner, the show and the drive home, the By the hour option is usually the simplest choice.
