Hotels · attractions · airports · bridges

Door-to-door chauffeured cars between every Fallsview and Clifton Hill hotel, the wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake, all four Niagara border bridges, Toronto Pearson, Buffalo Niagara, Hamilton and Billy Bishop airports, and the attractions on both sides of the river.

Niagara City Cruises is the official boat tour of Niagara Parks on the Canadian side. Its daytime sailing, Voyage to the Falls, runs past the American and Bridal Veil Falls and into the mist at the foot of the Horseshoe Falls, and an evening Fireworks Cruise goes out after dark in season. Boats leave from the Lower Landing in the gorge, with the ticket plaza at 5920 Niagara Parkway just below Clifton Hill. NiagaraFallsLimo.net brings guests to the plaza from hotels, airports and the US side, and keeps the day moving afterwards.

Many visitors still search for the boat under its earlier name, Hornblower Niagara Cruises. Niagara Parks' own page address carries that name, but the operator now trades as Niagara City Cruises.

How do I get to Niagara City Cruises without driving?

NiagaraFallsLimo.net drives you to the Niagara City Cruises ticket plaza at 5920 Niagara Parkway, below Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The drive from Toronto Pearson covers about 120–125 km (75–78 mi) and usually takes 1 h 30 – 1 h 45 off-peak. Enter pickup, drop-off and vehicle in the booker to see the fixed fare first.

From a Fallsview or Clifton Hill hotel, the plaza is a few minutes by car, and many guests walk down. From Niagara-on-the-Lake it is roughly 25 km (15 mi) south along the Niagara Parkway, usually 30–40 minutes. Guests coming from Buffalo cross into Canada first, and the Rainbow Bridge lands almost beside the dock area.

Finding the ticket plaza and the Lower Landing

The operator tells guests to look for large white sails next to the Zipline to the Falls tower. That is the ticket plaza at street level on the Niagara Parkway. From there, guests go down to the Lower Landing in the gorge, where the boats board. In peak season, which the operator defines as June through Labour Day, expect line-ups both to reach the Lower Landing and to board.

Niagara Parks lists the boats as wheelchair accessible and includes a recyclable poncho with every ticket. A snack bar operates at the site. If anyone in your party uses a wheelchair, choose the wheelchair option when you book the car and our accessible transportation team will match the vehicle to the chair.

Where your chauffeur sets you down and waits

The Niagara Parkway in front of the plaza is busy with pedestrians, WEGO buses and tour coaches. Niagara Parks does not publish a passenger drop-off bay here, so the chauffeur stops as close to the sails as traffic and the parkway officers allow, lets you out on the sidewalk side and moves on.

For the wait, the nearest Niagara Parks lot listed for the cruises is the Rainbow Bridge lot at 4348 Hiram Street, about a ten-minute walk from the dock area, priced at $12 per hour as of 2026 according to the Niagara Parks parking page. On a summer afternoon our chauffeurs often prefer to loop away and return when you message, which avoids paying for an hour the car does not need. With an hourly booking the car stays yours until you release it.

If you will finish on foot at Clifton Hill instead, tell the chauffeur before you split up. The top of Clifton Hill at Victoria Avenue is a calmer pickup than the Parkway at 6 pm. Our Clifton Hill guide explains the street layout.

Tickets and timed sailings

Tickets are timed. You pick a sailing window when you buy, and the operator asks guests to arrive just before or within the selected slot. Boarding can still take longer than planned on a busy day, so don't book a dinner reservation or a train for the minute after your window ends.

Niagara Parks listed 2026 admission at $47.95 for adults (13+) and $32.95 for children aged 3 to 12, in Canadian dollars plus 13% HST, with infants 2 and under free. Prices change by season, so confirm on the official Niagara Parks cruise page before you buy. We do not sell boat tickets; the chauffeur simply gets you there and back.

From the desk: buy the boat ticket first, then set your car's pickup 30 minutes before the window. That leaves time for the walk down and any queue at the top.

When the boats run

The season is April to November, but the exact start depends on the river. In 2026 the boats reopened on May 1; a Clifton Hill visitor bulletin linked the late start to heavy ice on Lake Erie. Ice and high water can shift opening day again next year, so treat any April plan as provisional until the operator confirms.

Which time of day to choose:

  • First sailings of the morning have the shortest lines and the softest light on the American Falls.
  • Midday in July and August is the busiest window of the year.
  • The Fireworks Cruise returns after sunset for the illuminated falls and the fireworks over the water. The 2026 Niagara Parks fireworks series ran nightly at 10 pm from May 15 to October 12. Check the operator for next season's Fireworks Cruise dates before you book an evening car.

For the full calendar of lights, festivals and quiet weeks, see the best time to visit Niagara Falls.

How long to allow

The operator does not publish a single total visit time, so plan from experience. Door to door, a morning sailing with short lines usually fits in 60–75 minutes. On a peak-season afternoon, allow 90 minutes to two hours from drop-off to pickup, because both the descent to the Lower Landing and the boarding can queue. Ponchos keep most of you dry, but shoes and the bottom of trousers often get wet; a change of socks in the car is a small luxury.

Niagara City Cruises or Maid of the Mist?

The two boats cover similar water from opposite shores.

If you are staying in Ontario, the Canadian boat is the natural choice. If you are doing both sides in one day, ride one boat and spend the time you save on Goat Island or the Cave of the Winds. Our Maid of the Mist guide covers the US dock, and the Canadian side vs American side guide helps with the bigger choice. The Maid of the Mist operator lists the documents for crossing from Canada to the boat.

Pairing the cruise with nearby sights

The ticket plaza sits in the middle of the most walkable stretch of the Canadian side. Good partners within a few minutes:

  1. Clifton Hill directly uphill, for the SkyWheel and an early dinner.
  2. Journey Behind the Falls at Table Rock, 2–3 km south by road. A boat in the morning and the tunnels after lunch gives two very different views of the Horseshoe Falls. See Journey Behind the Falls.
  3. The Skylon Tower, a short drive up the escarpment, for the view from above once you have seen the falls from the water.
  4. The Whirlpool Aero Car, about 4–5 km north on the Parkway, open April to November like the boats.

A sample afternoon for a family staying at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel: 1:00 pm pickup at the hotel, 1:30 pm boat window, 3:30 pm Skylon observation deck, 5:00 pm drop-off back at Falls Avenue. With a car on the hour, nobody walks the hills twice.

Coming from the US side

Guests staying in Niagara Falls, New York, or flying into Buffalo cross into Canada by the Rainbow Bridge, which lands close to the cruise plaza. Every passenger must carry their own valid documents, and the chauffeur crosses the bridge with you. Nobody can promise how long the inspection queue will take on a summer Saturday, so we build in margin. Read our Rainbow Bridge guide and the Buffalo Niagara airport transfer page for the routine. Buffalo Niagara airport to the dock is about 40–45 km (25–28 mi), usually 45–60 minutes before the border.

Our honest view: if your hotel is on Clifton Hill or Falls Avenue, walk. It is downhill and quicker than any car. A pre-booked chauffeur makes sense when the boat is part of a longer day, when you are arriving from Pearson or Buffalo with bags, when children need car seats, when a group of ten wants to stay together, or when you are crossing from New York and want one driver for both bridges. The guide to chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare sets out the trade-offs.

Who this suits

  • Individuals: a sedan timed to your sailing, then on to the next sight without waiting at a taxi rank.
  • Couples: a Fireworks Cruise followed by a quiet ride back to a Fallsview room.
  • Families: car seats ready, ponchos on, and a dry car waiting. See our Niagara Falls with kids page for more family planning.
  • Groups: a Sprinter or stretch SUV keeps a wedding party or reunion together from hotel to dock.

Book the boat ride in 3 steps

  1. In the booker, enter your hotel, airport or address as pickup and Niagara City Cruises, 5920 Niagara Parkway as drop-off, with your date and time.
  2. Choose a vehicle; every class shows its fixed fare before you commit. Use "By the hour" if the car should wait and take you on.
  3. Add passengers, luggage, child seats or extras, pay securely and keep the email confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

Is Niagara City Cruises the same as Hornblower?

It is the same Canadian boat tour that many visitors knew as Hornblower Niagara Cruises. Today it operates as Niagara City Cruises, the official boat tour operator for Niagara Parks, and the Niagara Parks web address for the attraction still uses the older name.

Do I need a passport for Niagara City Cruises?

Not if you are already in Canada; the boat leaves from the Canadian shore and returns there. Visitors coming from the United States must cross the border first, so each person needs valid documents for entering Canada. Our border pages explain what each traveller should carry.

When does the Niagara City Cruises season end?

Niagara Parks lists the season as April to November. The exact last sailing depends on weather and river conditions, so confirm with the operator before you book a late-autumn trip. In 2026 the season opened on May 1 after a late spring.

Will I get wet on the boat?

Yes, a little. Every ticket includes a recyclable poncho, which keeps most of you dry, but the mist near the Horseshoe Falls is heavy. Expect damp shoes and hems, and keep phones in a sealed pocket between photos. A spare pair of socks in the car helps.

Is Niagara City Cruises wheelchair accessible?

Niagara Parks lists the attraction as accessible, and the operator says it designs its vessels and boarding areas for guests of all abilities. Contact the operator about specific needs. When you book with us, select the wheelchair option and tell us whether the chair folds.

Where do I park for Niagara City Cruises?

Niagara Parks lists the Rainbow Bridge lot at 4348 Hiram Street for the cruises and the Zipline to the Falls, about a ten-minute walk, at $12 per hour as of 2026. With a chauffeur you skip parking; the car drops you near the ticket plaza and returns when you message.

Is Niagara City Cruises or Maid of the Mist better?

They are similar trips from opposite shores. Stay with Niagara City Cruises if you are based in Ontario, want timed tickets or want the evening Fireworks Cruise that Niagara Parks lists. Choose Maid of the Mist if you are already in New York State. Both enter the mist of the Horseshoe Falls; very few visitors need to ride both.

Can I do the boat and Journey Behind the Falls on the same day?

Yes. The ticket plaza and Table Rock are only 2–3 km apart by road. Leave at least 90 minutes between your two timed windows in summer, and book the car by the hour so the chauffeur handles the short move and the parking.
