Visitors who come to see Niagara Falls from Korea tend to be organised. They have screenshots of the shots they want, a sense of which boat goes closest, and a clear idea that icewine is the souvenir to bring home for parents and colleagues. The challenge is not knowing what to see. It is fitting the photo spots, a boat and a winery into one day without spending half of it looking for parking. That is where NiagaraFallsLimo.net comes in.
How can Korean visitors fit photo spots, a boat ride and icewine into one Niagara day?
Book a private chauffeured day with NiagaraFallsLimo.net: Toronto to Niagara Falls, Ontario, is about 130 km (80 mi), usually 1 h 30 – 1 h 45, and the icewine estates of Niagara-on-the-Lake are a further 24 km (15 mi), about 30 minutes. Choose "By the hour" in the online booker and see the fixed fare first.
Eight photo stops, in the order a chauffeur drives them
The river runs north from the Falls to Lake Ontario, and so does the best route. Starting at the brink and working downstream avoids doubling back.
- Table Rock. The railing at the edge of the Horseshoe Falls is the classic close-up. Arrive early for the fewest heads in the frame.
- Queen Victoria Park. The gardens across from the American and Bridal Veil Falls give the wide, two-falls view, and this is Niagara Parks' main fireworks viewing area in season.
- Skylon Tower. The observation level sits 775 ft above the Falls, and the outside "Yellow Bug" elevators reach the top in 52 seconds. On clear days you can see Buffalo and Toronto. Our Skylon Tower page has drop-off details.
- Niagara SkyWheel on Clifton Hill. At 175 ft, with climate-controlled gondolas that run all year, it gives a neon-and-falls shot that is popular after dark.
- Rainbow Bridge. The bridge frames the American Falls and the gorge, and it has a pedestrian walkway into the US. Walking across means entering the United States, so bring documents if you plan to, and note that the small pedestrian toll is collected on the Canadian side for people walking into the US.
- Whirlpool Aero Car. This antique cable car has run since 1916 over the Niagara Whirlpool and, Niagara Parks notes, crosses the international border four times without leaving Canada, so no passport is needed. It runs from April to November. See our Whirlpool Aero Car page.
- The Floral Clock. A 40-ft clock face planted with up to 16,000 plants, on the Niagara Parkway towards Niagara-on-the-Lake.
- Queen Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Heritage shopfronts, hanging flowers and, a few minutes away, the vineyards.
Between stops the chauffeur drops you at the entrance and either waits nearby or returns at a set time, so you are not walking back to a car park with camera bags. For a sunrise or night-time version of this list, read our post on Niagara Falls at night with a chauffeur.
Three boats, three very different rides
Korean guests often ask which boat to take. The answer depends on what you want from it: the mist, the rapids, or a view from both sides of the river.
| Boat | Departs from | 2026 season | Passport needed? | What it is like |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Niagara City Cruises | 5920 Niagara Parkway, Canadian side | opened 1 May; runs to November | No | Into the Horseshoe Falls mist, poncho included |
| Maid of the Mist | Prospect Point, Niagara Falls, NY | 24 April to 8 November | Yes, if starting from Canada | Double-deck electric boat past the American Falls into the Horseshoe basin |
| Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours | Queenston, ON, or Lewiston, NY | seasonal | Only for the Lewiston departure from Canada | About 45 minutes through the Devil's Hole Rapids and the Whirlpool |
For most visitors staying in Canada, Niagara City Cruises is the obvious choice. Niagara Parks lists it as the official Niagara Parks boat tour, with timed tickets and wheelchair-accessible boats. Our Niagara City Cruises page covers drop-off at the dock.
Maid of the Mist makes sense if you are also visiting the US side. Its 2026 schedule runs from 24 April to 8 November, and the boat closes from 9 November until opening day 2027. See our Maid of the Mist page for the crossing.
Whirlpool Jet is the thrill option. The Canadian check-in is at 55 River Frontage Road in Queenston, which the operator's locations page places about 15 to 20 minutes from Clifton Hill. Height minimums apply, so check before booking with children.
Icewine: where to taste it and when it is made
Icewine is the gift most Korean visitors want to take home, and Niagara-on-the-Lake is the place to buy it at the source. The rules are strict: VQA Ontario requires grapes naturally frozen on the vine and picked below -8 °C, with juice of at least 35 Brix. Most is made from Vidal and Riesling.
Three ways to include it:
- A short winery stop on the photo day, between the Floral Clock and Queen Street.
- A dedicated wine afternoon with two or three estates. Our icewine guide explains what each tasting usually involves, and the post for Chinese visitors planning with a private driver explains how icewine is made and how to pack it for a long flight.
- The winter festival. The Niagara Icewine Festival includes the Niagara-on-the-Lake Icewine Village on Queen Street over two January weekends, with fire pits and ice carving. The organisers had not published 2027 dates at the time of writing.
The chauffeur never drinks, and nobody drinks inside our vehicles; Niagara Region's by-law does not allow it. Taste at the winery and carry the sealed bottles. Pack them in checked luggage for the flight home.
Entry papers: the eTA, and the ESTA for the US side
Citizens of the Republic of Korea are visa-exempt for Canada but need an eTA to fly in, CA$7 on canada.ca (as of 2026), according to the Government of Canada's entry requirements by country.
To visit Niagara Falls, New York, for Maid of the Mist or Prospect Point, you need an approved ESTA, because Korea is in the US Visa Waiver Program. The chauffeur crosses with you at the Rainbow Bridge; every passenger carries their own passport, and we cannot predict queue times. Re-entering Canada by car does not need a second eTA.
On the US side, the State Park's Observation Tower at Prospect Point gives the only panoramic view of all three falls, though in October 2026 the far end of the tower was closed for construction.
A sample day, hour by hour
- 8:00 Pickup at a downtown Toronto hotel, about 130 km (80 mi) from the Falls.
- 9:45 Table Rock and Queen Victoria Park while the paths are still quiet.
- 11:00 Niagara City Cruises from the dock on the Niagara Parkway, ponchos included.
- 12:30 Lunch near the Falls, then the Skylon Tower or the SkyWheel.
- 14:30 The Whirlpool Aero Car in season, then the Floral Clock on the Parkway.
- 16:00 One icewine tasting in Niagara-on-the-Lake and a walk on Queen Street.
- 17:30 Return to Toronto, arriving in the early evening, or stay for the illumination and return later.
Every stop is optional and the order can change with the weather. If the mist is heavy at noon, the chauffeur can swap the tower and the boat.
Timing your photos: light, mist and crowds
- Early morning is the quietest time at Table Rock, before the tour coaches arrive, and the soft light suits portraits at the railing.
- Wind direction decides where the mist goes. If the railing at Table Rock is soaked, move to Queen Victoria Park and come back later.
- After dark the Falls are illuminated every night of the year, from between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. depending on the season.
- Late autumn and winter bring ice formations and fewer people, but the Aero Car and the boats are closed after their seasons end.
Chauffeur vs rideshare vs taxi for this trip
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private chauffeur, by the hour | about 1 h 30 – 1 h 45 from Toronto, then stop to stop | Fixed fare via booker | Camera bags and shopping stay in the car | Photo days, icewine shopping, groups |
| WEGO bus in Niagara | stop to stop on set lines | 24 h adult pass CA$16 (as of 2026) | Carry everything | Budget visitors staying at the Falls |
| Rideshare | quick for single hops | Surge pricing | Small | Two people, one or two stops |
| Taxi | quick for single hops | Metered | Trunk only | Short rides between hotels |
| Coach tour from Toronto | full day on a set route | Per-seat ticket | Under the coach | Solo travellers |
Verdict: if you are staying at the Falls and only want Table Rock, Clifton Hill and the boat, the Niagara Parks WEGO bus or a couple of short taxi rides will do the job well. Once the day includes the Aero Car, the Floral Clock, Niagara-on-the-Lake, a winery and a camera bag you do not want to carry, a chauffeur by the hour saves real time. For the wider comparison, see chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare.
Who this suits
Couples chasing sunrise and night shots get the most from a chauffeur who knows the quiet times. Individuals, especially photographers with heavy gear, can leave lenses and tripods in the car between stops. Families with children appreciate fewer long walks and booster seats fitted in advance. Groups of friends travelling together share an Executive Sprinter for up to 12 on day trips, with carry-on bags only.

Frequently asked questions
Do Korean citizens need a visa for Niagara Falls, Canada?
No visa is needed for Canada, but you need an eTA to board a flight to Canada. It costs CA$7 (as of 2026) on the official canada.ca site. For the US side by land, you also need an approved ESTA.
Which boat gets closest to the Horseshoe Falls?
Both Niagara City Cruises from the Canadian side and Maid of the Mist from the US side travel into the basin of the Horseshoe Falls. If you are staying in Canada, Niagara City Cruises avoids a border crossing.
Where is the best photo spot at Niagara Falls?
Table Rock gives the closest view of the Horseshoe Falls, Queen Victoria Park the wide view of both falls, and the Skylon Tower the view from 775 ft above. On the US side, the Prospect Point Observation Tower shows all three falls together.
Can I take icewine home to Korea?
Yes. Buy sealed bottles at the winery and pack them in checked luggage. Check Korea's customs allowance for alcohol before buying a large quantity, and remember there is no drinking inside our vehicles.
When is the Niagara Icewine Festival?
The festival runs in January and includes the Icewine Village on Queen Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake over two weekends. The organisers had not posted 2027 dates when this was written, so check their site before planning around it.
Does the Whirlpool Aero Car need a passport?
No. Niagara Parks says the Aero Car crosses the international border four times over the Whirlpool but never leaves Canada, so no passport is required. It runs from April to November.
How long is the drive from Toronto?
About 130 km (80 mi) from downtown Toronto, usually 1 h 30 – 1 h 45 off-peak. From the Falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake is another 24 km (15 mi), about 30 minutes along the Niagara Parkway or the faster inland roads.
