Breakfast at an inn on Jordan's Main Street, a tasting room across the road, vineyard rows climbing towards the escarpment, and then, forty minutes later, the roar of the Horseshoe Falls. That contrast is the whole appeal of staying in the Town of Lincoln, which takes in Jordan, Vineland and Beamsville. It is also why the ride from Vineland to Niagara Falls deserves a little planning: the pickup is often a winery driveway or an inn courtyard, not a hotel tower with a valet stand.
NiagaraFallsLimo.net handles Twenty Valley pickups as fixed-fare transfers, or as a chauffeur by the hour who stays with you from the first tasting to the last view of the illuminated Falls.
How long is the ride from Vineland or Jordan to Niagara Falls?
From Vineland to Niagara Falls is about 37 km (23 mi), usually 30–40 minutes on the QEW; Jordan Village is about 35 km (22 mi) and Beamsville about 42 km (26 mi), 35–45 minutes. NiagaraFallsLimo.net books these as fixed-fare rides: enter the inn or winery and your Falls hotel in the booker and the fare appears before you pay.
All three villages sit just below the QEW, so the chauffeur is on the highway within minutes and comes off at the Falls exits. Summer Saturdays and long weekends slow the last few kilometres near Fallsview, so allow an extra fifteen minutes if you have a dinner reservation.
Where Twenty Valley pickups actually happen
Rural addresses are the one thing that goes wrong on this route. A rideshare app may drop a pin at the end of a long vineyard lane, or at the wrong side of a property that has a tasting room, a restaurant and a private residence on the same parcel. When you book, give us the name of the place, not only the street number. A few common starting points:
- Jordan Village. Inn on the Twenty is an all-suite inn at 3845 Main Street in Jordan, part of the Vintage Hotels group. Cave Spring keeps its cellars and tasting room directly across the street at 3836 Main Street. Pickups here are simple: the car pulls in on Main Street and you walk out the door.
- Vineland, around Cherry Avenue and Moyer Road. Tawse Estate Winery (3955 Cherry Avenue), Megalomaniac Wines (3930 Cherry Avenue) and Vineland Estates Winery (3620 Moyer Road) are close together, which makes them easy to string into a day.
- Beamsville, along King Street and the Bench roads. Malivoire (4260 King Street East), Kew Vineyards (4696 King Street), Hidden Bench Estate Winery (4152 Locust Lane) and Rosewood Wines (4352 Mountainview Road) are all on or near the Beamsville Bench.
If you are staying at a private rental, tell us how the driveway works and whether there is a gate. Chauffeurs prefer a two-line note to a phone call from a dark country road.
The Bench, in two paragraphs
The vineyards here sit on a series of benches below the Niagara Escarpment, in what VQA Ontario calls the Niagara Escarpment regional appellation, with sub-appellations including Beamsville Bench, Twenty Mile Bench, Vinemount Ridge, Lincoln Lakeshore and Creek Shores. VQA explains that Lake Ontario breezes moderate temperatures, extending the autumn growing season, and that the escarpment shapes slope, elevation and the lake's influence.
For a visitor, that translates into a quieter, more rural wine country than Niagara-on-the-Lake, with tasting rooms spread out along concession roads rather than clustered along one busy highway. It is lovely by car and genuinely awkward without one. Our Twenty Valley and Beamsville Bench guide introduces the wineries in more depth.

Three ways to shape the day
1. Bench by day, Falls by night. Start at your Jordan inn around 11 a.m., taste at two or three wineries with lunch in between, and leave the Bench around 5 p.m. You reach the Falls by 6, have dinner overlooking the water, and see the illumination after dark. The chauffeur either waits and drives you back to Jordan, about 35 km, or drops you at a Fallsview hotel for the night. Our Fallsview hotels page covers drop-off points at the big towers.
2. Falls first, Bench in the afternoon. Useful if you are staying at the Falls and want the wine country without changing hotels. Spend the morning at Table Rock or the Skylon Tower, leave at 1 p.m., and spend the afternoon on the Bench. You are back at the Falls for dinner.
3. A pure wine day from Jordan. Never go near the Falls at all. Book a chauffeur by the hour for five or six hours, taste across Lincoln and finish back on Main Street. Our one-day wine tour itinerary suggests pacing, and the Niagara wine tour limo service explains how a winery day is booked.
Whichever version you choose, check each tasting room's reservation policy before the day. Several Bench wineries take bookings, and a full room at 3 p.m. on a Saturday is the most common way a wine day falls behind.
Tastings, bottles and the car
Wine tours exist so nobody has to drive after tasting, and the chauffeur never drinks. Two rules keep the day straightforward:
- No drinking in the vehicle. Niagara Region's vehicle-for-hire by-law forbids a licensed driver from permitting alcohol consumption in the vehicle, and Ontario's Liquor Licence and Control Act allows liquor in a vehicle only when it is unopened with the seal unbroken or packed away. Taste at the winery; travel with the bottles closed.
- Bottles you buy go in the back. Tell us roughly how many cases you expect to buy. A sedan handles a few bottles; a Standard SUV (up to 6 passengers, 6 bags) is the better choice for serious shoppers.
Getting back to Jordan after dark
The ride home is the part couples forget to book. After dinner at the Falls and a look at the illumination, it is about 35 km back to Jordan Village, usually 30–40 minutes once you are clear of the Fallsview traffic. The QEW is lit and straightforward; the last few minutes on village streets and winery lanes are not, which is why a driver who has the inn's entrance in the booking notes matters more at 11 p.m. than it did at noon.
Three small things help:
- Set the return time when you book. "10:30 p.m. at the hotel's main entrance" is better than calling for a car from the restaurant table.
- Tell us if the inn has a late check-in desk or a door code. The chauffeur will wait until you are inside if you ask.
- Allow for fireworks nights in season. When the Falls fireworks run, traffic around Fallsview and Clifton Hill thickens for half an hour afterwards, so a pickup 30 minutes after the show is usually calmer than one straight after it.
Chauffeur vs rideshare vs taxi for this trip
| Way to go | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-booked chauffeur | 30–45 min to the Falls, car waiting at each stop | Fixed fare via booker | Sedan 2 large; SUV 6 | Wine days, inn pickups, an evening at the Falls with a ride home |
| Rideshare app | 30–45 min, plus an uncertain wait in rural areas | App estimate; surge pricing | Depends on the car | A single trip from Jordan Village at a busy time of day |
| Taxi | 30–45 min, plus dispatch time | Metered | Sedan or minivan | A one-way ride arranged in advance |
| Driving yourself | 30–45 min plus parking | Fuel and Falls parking | Your own trunk | Non-drinkers who only want the scenery |
The honest verdict. For a single one-way ride from a Jordan inn to the Falls in the early evening, a pre-arranged taxi is perfectly reasonable, and in Jordan Village itself you may well find a rideshare. The case for a chauffeur gets stronger the more stops you add, the later you return, and the further you are from the village. Waiting for a car at the end of a vineyard lane at 6 p.m., with three tasting flights behind you and a dinner booking ahead, is exactly the moment a pre-booked driver earns their keep. Our chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare guide covers the trade-offs across Niagara.

Who this suits
Couples are the classic Twenty Valley guests: an inn on Main Street, a long lunch, a slow drive to the Falls for the evening. Individuals who want to taste seriously, with nobody waiting on them to drive, book by the hour and set their own pace. Families visiting relatives in Lincoln use the transfer to reach the Falls without moving everyone's car, with child seats from the booker. Groups of friends travel together in an SUV or, for up to 12, an Executive Sprinter with carry-on space only. More date-night ideas are on our couples page, and the routes hub lists other pickups around the region. For the wine itself, see our journal posts on Twenty Mile Bench and Jordan, a quieter tasting day on the Beamsville Bench and a Jordan Village day trip.
Frequently asked questions
How far is Vineland from Niagara Falls?
About 37 km (23 mi) by road, usually 30–40 minutes via the QEW. Jordan Village is slightly closer at about 35 km, Beamsville a little further at about 42 km. Summer weekends can add 15 minutes or more near the Fallsview hotels.
Can you pick us up at a winery rather than a hotel?
Yes. Give the winery name as well as the address, because many properties combine a tasting room, a restaurant and a private residence. The chauffeur will meet you at the tasting room entrance unless you tell us otherwise.
Can we bring wine we buy back in the car?
Yes, as long as it stays sealed. Ontario's Liquor Licence and Control Act allows liquor in a vehicle when it is unopened with the seal unbroken, or packed away. Drinking in the vehicle is not permitted. Mention how much you plan to buy so we send a car with room.
Is the Twenty Valley better than Niagara-on-the-Lake for wine?
Different rather than better. The Bench wineries are more spread out and rural, with a quieter feel; Niagara-on-the-Lake is busier and more compact, with the old town and the Shaw Festival close by. Many visitors do one of each over a weekend.
How do I get from Toronto Pearson to Jordan Village?
Pearson to Jordan is about 96 km (60 mi), usually 1 h 10 – 1 h 30 off-peak and longer on a summer Friday. Book a point-to-point transfer with your flight number; flight tracking adjusts the pickup if you land early or late.
Do Twenty Valley wineries need reservations?
Policies vary by winery. Some welcome walk-ins and others prefer bookings, especially for groups and on weekends. Check each winery's own site before the day, and leave a little slack in your plan so one busy tasting room does not push the rest of the afternoon back.
Can we finish at the Falls and not go back to Jordan?
Of course. Book a one-way or multi-stop trip ending at your Niagara Falls hotel, or keep the chauffeur by the hour and decide on the day. The booker prices each version before you pay.
