From the upper floors of a Fallsview hotel you can see both of them: the Fallsview Casino Resort on the cliff above the Horseshoe Falls, and across the river the hotel tower of the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in downtown Niagara Falls, New York. They are about 3.5 km apart by road, but the bridge between them changes almost everything: the currency, the legal age, the rewards program and the rules at the door.
NiagaraFallsLimo.net drives groups between the two on casino nights. This is the comparison we give people who ask which one is "better", followed by a plan for doing both.
Seneca Niagara casino vs Fallsview: which should you visit?
Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ontario is larger and stronger on shows; Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, NY plays in US dollars and requires gamblers to be 21. They are about 3.5 km (2.2 mi) apart over the Rainbow Bridge, roughly 10 minutes plus the border. NiagaraFallsLimo.net books both in one evening through its online booker.
The short version: choose Fallsview for a big night with a headline show and dinner above the falls; choose Seneca Niagara if your group is 21 and over, wants to play in US dollars, or is already spending the day on the New York side. Choose both if you have a chauffeur and everyone carries their documents.
Side by side: the two resorts in numbers
These figures come from each resort's own site as of October 2026: the Fallsview Casino Resort home page and Seneca Niagara's published facts.

There is also a third option on the Canadian side: Casino Niagara at 5705 Falls Avenue, beside Clifton Hill, with more than 1,300 slots and 30-plus tables, including a poker room, on 95,000 sq ft of gaming. Its official site lists live gaming daily. It suits a quick visit between attractions rather than a whole evening.
The rules that differ at the door
Age. In Ontario you must be 19 to enter the Fallsview casino floor. At Seneca Niagara, the casino's frequently asked questions state you must be 21 or older to gamble and show valid government photo ID. A group with a 19- or 20-year-old should plan the evening around Fallsview.
Money. Seneca plays in US dollars. Canadian bills can be swapped at its cashier windows, but most visitors find it simpler to bring US cash or use a card.
Rewards. Fallsview uses Mohegan's Momentum program. Seneca runs its own Social Club card. Points do not move between them.
Smoking. Seneca Niagara keeps an indoor smoking area on the east side of its gaming floor, tobacco only; all other smoking products, including cannabis, are banned. Remember too that carrying cannabis across the border in either direction is a criminal offence.
Documents. The moment you cross, you are an international traveller. Each person carries their own passport, passport card, enhanced driver's licence or NEXUS card if they are a US or Canadian citizen; other nationalities usually need a passport plus an ESTA or visa. Our page on documents for entering the USA explains the rest.

Seneca Niagara or Fallsview: where each one wins
Fallsview wins on spectacle. It sits on the cliff over the Horseshoe Falls, it is the larger floor, and the two theatres host more than 320 shows a year. If the night is built around a concert, Fallsview is the answer; our post on getting to the OLG Stage and home again covers show-night timing, and our Fallsview Casino Resort page has the arrival details.
Seneca wins on convenience for US-side days. It is within walking distance of the American Falls and Niagara Falls State Park, parking is free, and it plays in US dollars. Guests who spent the afternoon on Goat Island can walk over for dinner. Our Seneca Niagara casino page explains where cars stop.
Fallsview wins for mixed-age groups because of the 19 rule. Seneca wins for golfers, since the resort includes the Hickory Stick Golf Club.
Doing both in one evening with one driver
A typical two-casino plan for a group:
- Early dinner at Fallsview. Pickup at your hotel, drop at the Fallsview entrance on Fallsview Boulevard.
- Cross around 8 p.m. The chauffeur collects the group, drives down to the Rainbow Bridge and crosses with you. From Fallsview to the Seneca entrance is about 3.5 km (2.2 mi), around 8–10 minutes before inspection.
- Play at Seneca. Set a firm return time, and keep it. The car waits nearby on an hourly booking.
- Return to Canada. The way back is about 6 km (3.9 mi) because of the one-way approach to the bridge, roughly 13 minutes plus inspection. The Rainbow Bridge is listed as open 24 hours, and the Canada-bound car toll, as of 2026, is US$6.00 or CA$8.50 per the bridge commission's toll page.
Two cautions. First, we never promise a crossing time, and late-night queues after concerts on either side can surprise people. Second, a person without valid documents can be refused at the US booth, which ends the plan for the whole car. Check everyone's papers before you leave the hotel. Our casino limo service page has more on group logistics.
Late nights: food, the last crossing and getting home
Casino evenings run long, and the end of the night is where plans fray. A few things we have learned driving these trips:
- Eat before you cross back. Both resorts have late dining, but options thin out after midnight. Our list of late-night food in Niagara Falls after the casino covers what stays open on the Canadian side.
- Agree the return time at the start. One person who wants "just one more hand" can hold a whole Sprinter at the curb. On an hourly booking, extra time is simply added, but it is easier on everyone when the plan is clear.
- Keep documents on you, not in the car. If the group splits between floors, everyone still needs their own passport or card at the booth.
- Declare purchases. Anything bought in New York, from duty-free bottles to resort-shop gifts, is declared to the Canada Border Services Agency on the way back.
Staying on the New York side instead? Our post for Seneca Niagara resort guests crossing to the Canadian falls reverses this plan, with Fallsview as the second stop and the Rainbow Bridge back to your hotel at the end of the night.
What the 2026 casino changes mean for visitors
On August 13, 2026, Ontario announced that OLG had reached a deal with MGE Niagara Entertainment to end MGE's exclusive right to run casinos in Niagara. MGE keeps operating Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, and OLG plans to look for new operators later in 2026. For visitors today, nothing changes at the door: both Canadian casinos are open, and Casino Niagara is not closing.
Chauffeur vs rideshare vs taxi for this trip
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Space | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private chauffeur (NiagaraFallsLimo.net) | Door to door at both resorts, one car all night | Fixed fare via the booker | Up to 12 in a Sprinter, 16 in a stretch SUV limo | Groups doing both casinos |
| Rideshare | Easy within one city | Surge pricing after shows; many drivers will not cross | Up to 4 typically | One casino, one side of the border |
| Taxi | Rank wait after big shows | Metered | Up to 4 typically | A short hop to Fallsview from a nearby hotel |
| Walking | Fallsview hotels to the casino in minutes | Free | None | Guests staying on Fallsview Boulevard |
| Driving yourself | Flexible | Parking, toll, and nobody can drink | Your car | Not advised for a night of play |
The verdict: if your hotel is on Fallsview Boulevard and you are only visiting Fallsview, walk. If you are staying downtown in Niagara Falls, NY and only visiting Seneca, a short taxi or rideshare is fine. A pre-booked car makes sense once the night crosses the border, involves a group, or ends late enough that nobody wants to wait at a rank. If you are only weighing the Canadian side, our post on Fallsview Casino parking versus a door drop-off runs the numbers on time rather than money.
Booking it with NiagaraFallsLimo.net in 3 steps

- Add every passenger's name, note your intended crossing time, pay securely, and look for the confirmation email.
Reserve your casino-night chauffeur
Who it suits
Groups are the natural fit: birthday parties, stag and stagette nights and work outings who want one vehicle all evening, and our groups page explains sizing. Couples often prefer a single casino with dinner and a show at Fallsview. Individuals travelling for business can cross for an hour at Seneca after meetings in Buffalo. Families are better suited to the attractions; nobody under 19 enters a casino floor on either side.
Frequently asked questions
Which is bigger, Fallsview or Seneca Niagara?
Fallsview. Its own site lists more than 3,200 slots and 110 tables on 200,000 sq ft of gaming, against more than 2,700 slots and 80-plus tables at Seneca Niagara. Fallsview also has two theatres with more than 320 shows a year.
What is the casino age in Niagara Falls?
On the Ontario side you must be 19 to enter the Fallsview and Casino Niagara casino floors. At Seneca Niagara in New York you must be 21 to gamble, with valid government-issued photo ID.
How far is Seneca Niagara from Fallsview Casino?
About 3.5 km (2.2 mi) from Fallsview to Seneca Niagara over the Rainbow Bridge, roughly 8–10 minutes of driving, plus the US border inspection. The return is about 6 km because of the one-way approach. Nobody can promise how long the booth will take, and we do not try.
Can we use Canadian dollars at Seneca Niagara?
Seneca Niagara plays in US dollars. Its FAQ says Canadian money can be exchanged for US dollars at the cashier windows. Fallsview and Casino Niagara use Canadian dollars.
Is parking free at the casinos?
Seneca Niagara advertises free self-parking at Seneca Square or its garage, with valet available. Fallsview publishes its own parking information on the resort site. With a chauffeur you are dropped at the door and parking does not arise.
Can we drink in the limo between casinos?
No. NiagaraFallsLimo.net does not allow drinking in its vehicles, and Niagara Region's vehicle-for-hire by-law forbids it. Enjoy a drink at either resort and let the chauffeur do the driving.
Is Casino Niagara closing?
No. Casino Niagara is open. The August 2026 agreement between OLG and MGE Niagara Entertainment ends MGE's exclusivity in Niagara, but MGE continues to operate both Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara.
Can friends under 21 come along to Seneca Niagara?
They can visit the resort's non-gaming areas, such as restaurants, but they cannot gamble, and the resort asks that anyone under 18 is accompanied by a parent or guardian. For a group with members aged 19 or 20, Fallsview is usually the better base for the night, since its casino floor is open to anyone 19 and over.
