You have been awake for fourteen hours, the queue at the e-gates was long, and your phone has only just found a signal. This is the moment when an airport pickup either works effortlessly or falls apart. At Toronto Pearson, the difference usually comes down to one detail: which terminal you are in, and which meeting point you chose when you booked.
Pearson has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3; there is no Terminal 2, which still confuses first-time visitors. Both work well for a Pearson airport to Niagara Falls transfer, but they are not laid out the same way. Here is what to expect at each.
Where does a pre-booked chauffeur meet you at Pearson?
At Toronto Pearson, a pre-booked NiagaraFallsLimo.net chauffeur meets you either at Door A of Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, or inside arrivals with a name board if you add meet and greet. Niagara Falls is then about 122 km (76 mi), usually 1 h 30 – 1 h 50 off-peak. Book in the online booker.
Door A is Pearson's designated pickup point for pre-arranged taxis and limousines at both terminals, according to the airport's pre-arranged services page. Operators who provide this kind of service register each pickup with the airport. In practice, that means your chauffeur is not circling or waiting illegally at the curb; the car is staged nearby and moves to Door A once you are through.
Before you land: three things that make the pickup easy
- Put your flight number in the booking. Pickups are flight-tracked, so a delay, a diversion or an early arrival changes the chauffeur's timing automatically.
- Know your terminal. Your boarding pass or airline app shows it. If you are unsure, the flight number lets us check.
- Decide between curbside and meet and greet. Curbside means you walk to Door A once you have your bags; meet and greet means someone is waiting inside the arrivals hall. More on choosing below.
Optional, for international arrivals: Canada's Advance Declaration in the ArriveCAN app lets you submit your customs and immigration declaration up to 72 hours before landing, and Pearson's Terminals 1 and 3 are both participating locations, according to the Canada Border Services Agency. It is optional, and it does not replace the officer's questions.
After customs at Terminal 1
After you clear customs and collect your bags in Terminal 1, follow the signs for ground transportation.
- Curbside pickup: head for Door A. Message the chauffeur when you have your bags; the car arrives at the door.
- Meet and greet: your chauffeur waits in the arrivals area with a name board and walks with you to the car.
- Useful landmark: the UP Express station is in Terminal 1, directly next to the Terminal Link Train, according to UP Express. If you see signs for them, you are in the right building.
Terminal 1 is also where FlixBus picks up, through Gate P on the ground level, so you may see bus passengers heading the other way. Ignore them; your pickup is at Door A.
After customs at Terminal 3
The routine in Terminal 3 is the same, with one difference: it has no UP Express station, so most of the people around you will be heading for the curb, the parking garages or the Terminal Link Train.
- Curbside pickup: again, Door A.
- Meet and greet: the chauffeur meets you inside arrivals with a name board.
- If you need Terminal 1 for anything: the free Terminal Link Train connects the two terminals. You will not need it for a chauffeured pickup, but it is how you reach the UP Express or FlixBus from Terminal 3.
The most common mistake is not about the terminal at all. It is walking out of the first door you see and phoning the driver from the wrong spot. Pearson's curbs are long; Door A is the agreed point for a reason.

Meet and greet or curbside: which to choose
| Situation | Better choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| First visit to Canada, long-haul flight | meet and greet | someone is waiting the moment you leave the customs hall |
| Travelling with young children or a lot of luggage | meet and greet | the chauffeur helps with the bags and the walk |
| A guest you are booking for, such as a client or relative | meet and greet | they see their name and do not need to phone anyone |
| Frequent flyer with carry-on only | curbside | you know the airport and want to walk straight out |
| Short domestic hop, phone working | curbside | quickest when you are confident of the terminal |
Meet and greet is a booker option on our meet and greet service. If you are travelling with a wheelchair or another mobility aid, say so when you book. Pearson advises travellers to confirm directly with their operator whether a non-foldable aid can be carried, and our accessible transportation page explains the wheelchair option in the booker.
When things change on the day
Airports rarely run exactly to plan. These are the situations we handle most often.
- Your flight is delayed. Flight tracking moves the pickup. You do not need to call; the chauffeur sees the new arrival time.
- You are moved to a different terminal. Rare, but it happens with rebookings. Message the desk with the new flight number and terminal; Door A at the other terminal works the same way.
- Your bags do not arrive. Report it at the airline's baggage desk before you leave the hall, because you will not be able to come back through. Tell the chauffeur you are at the desk; they will wait. Our sibling post on lost luggage at Pearson with a Niagara booking covers what happens next.
- Customs takes a long time. Long-haul arrivals can face a queue at the primary inspection line. The chauffeur knows your flight landed and will wait for you to come through.
The sibling post on flight delays into YYZ explains flight tracking in more detail.
Why your driver is not waiting at the curb
Pearson does not allow vehicles to wait at the terminal curbs or on the approach roads. The airport has a free cell-phone waiting area off the terminal roads for people collecting friends and family; check the airport's site for its current rules. Professional pre-arranged operators follow the airport's registration process instead. Either way, the principle is the same: the car comes to the door when you are ready, not before. That is why the "I have my bags" message matters.
From the curb to the QEW
Once you are in the car, the route to Niagara Falls leaves the airport by Highway 427 or by Highway 403 and the 407 ETR, joins the Queen Elizabeth Way around the western end of Lake Ontario, crosses the Burlington Bay James N. Allan Skyway, and runs through St. Catharines to Niagara Falls. Expect about 122 to 129 km and 1 h 30 – 1 h 50 off-peak, longer on summer Friday afternoons. The QEW is the main highway between Toronto and the Niagara Peninsula; the 407 ETR is an electronic toll road billed by licence plate, already covered in a fixed fare.
Your chauffeur drops you at the hotel entrance, whether that is a Fallsview tower or a quiet inn in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our Fallsview hotels guide lists the current names, and the Toronto to Niagara Falls route page has timings by time of day.
Chauffeur vs rideshare vs taxi for this trip
| Option | Where you meet it | Door-to-door to the Falls | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-booked chauffeur | Door A, T1 or T3, or inside arrivals | about 1 h 35 – 2 h | fixed fare via booker | sized to your bags; seats fitted | first-time visitors, families, groups, late arrivals |
| Rideshare | the airport's rideshare pickup area | about 1 h 45 – 2 h 15 | surge pricing | depends on the car | adults travelling light |
| Taxi | from the arrivals area, no pre-booking needed | about 1 h 45 – 2 h 15 | ask the fare first | trunk only | adults who want to leave right away |
| FlixBus | Terminal 1, Gate P, Post P4 | about 2 h 30 – 4 h | fares from CA$20.98 on the Toronto route, as of 2026 | standard bags | solo budget travellers |
The honest verdict. An experienced traveller with a carry-on, a working phone and a daytime arrival can take a rideshare from Pearson without much trouble. The pre-booked chauffeur matters most for the first-time visitor, the parent with two children and a stroller, the executive whose assistant booked the car, and anyone landing late with no wish to negotiate a long trip at a taxi stand. Who this suits
Individuals on business usually choose curbside at Door A and a sedan. Couples arriving for a honeymoon or anniversary often add meet and greet and a Mercedes-Benz E or S-Class. Families benefit most from meet and greet plus a Standard SUV with car seats fitted. Groups of up to twelve can be met by an Executive Sprinter, provided luggage is carry-on only; with full suitcases, two SUVs work better. Our Toronto Pearson transfer page has all the details.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I meet a pre-booked limo at Toronto Pearson?
At Door A of Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, which Pearson designates for pre-arranged taxi and limousine pickups. If you book meet and greet, your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals area with a name board instead.
How do I know if I land at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3?
Your boarding pass, airline app or booking confirmation names the terminal. If you are not sure, give us your flight number in the booker; flight tracking shows the terminal.
Is there a Terminal 2 at Pearson?
No. Pearson operates Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The free Terminal Link Train connects them.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Your pickup moves with it. Airport transfers are flight-tracked, so the chauffeur follows the actual arrival time rather than the schedule printed on your ticket.
Can my driver wait at the arrivals curb?
No. Pearson does not allow vehicles to wait at the terminal curbs. Your chauffeur stays nearby and comes to Door A when you message that you have your bags, or meets you inside if you booked meet and greet.
How long does it take to get from Pearson to Niagara Falls?
About 1 h 30 to 1 h 50 off-peak for roughly 122 to 129 km, depending on the route. On summer Friday afternoons and holiday weekends, allow two hours or more.
Do I need ArriveCAN to land at Pearson?
No. Advance Declaration in ArriveCAN is optional. Pearson's Terminals 1 and 3 accept it, and it can save time at the kiosks, but you can still declare on arrival without it.
Can you meet a guest I am booking for?
Yes. Enter the guest's name and flight number, add meet and greet so they see their name on arrival, and the confirmation can go to you. This is common for clients, relatives and wedding guests.
