A parent's view of Halloween in Niagara Falls usually starts with one question: how do I get six fifteen-year-olds an hour and a half from home, through four haunted houses, and back again after midnight without being the driver? Clifton Hill, the "Street of Fun" one block from the Falls, is built for that night. It has walk-through haunts, dark rides and a wax museum with an optional chamber of horrors, most of them within a two-minute walk of each other. The planning work is all at the edges: timing, ages, and the ride home.
NiagaraFallsLimo.net books late pickups from Clifton Hill every weekend of October. This guide covers what is on the hill, who each haunt suits, and how to arrange the night.
Where do you go for Halloween in Niagara Falls?
For Halloween in Niagara Falls, most visitors head to Clifton Hill, one block from the Falls, where Nightmares Fear Factory, House of Frankenstein and other haunts run late. Downtown Toronto is about 129 km (80 mi) away, usually 1 h 30 – 1 h 50. NiagaraFallsLimo.net books the trip and a fixed-time late pickup online.
In 2026, Halloween falls on a Saturday, so the big night is Friday, October 30 through Saturday, October 31. Nightmares Fear Factory, on Victoria Avenue across from Casino Niagara, lists extended hours of 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on both nights, then 11 a.m. to midnight on Sunday, November 1, according to its own site. It warns that hours can change and suggests calling on the day.
The haunts, from mild to serious
Clifton Hill's attraction district publishes a guide to its scariest attractions, with addresses and age notes. Arranged roughly from gentle to intense:
- Ghost Blasters Dark Ride (inside the Great Canadian Midway, 4950 Clifton Hill). A black-light ride in two-person cars where you shoot at targets. Riders must be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone. The lightest option for younger children.
- Creepy Castle (4960 Clifton Hill). A motion-seat ride with 3D visuals and wind effects; ask an attendant for a non-motion seat if anyone gets motion-sick.
- Carnival Chaos (4960 Clifton Hill). An interactive shooting ride with sinister clowns, 42-inch minimum height.
- The Haunted House (4943 Clifton Hill). Billed by its operator as family friendly, though the Clifton Hill guide sensibly says a child's own comfort with scares matters more than the label.
- Dracula's Haunted Castle (4933 Clifton Hill). Ask at the door about suitability for children or nervous visitors.
- Movieland Wax Museum's House of Horrors (4848 Clifton Hill). The horror section is optional, so a mixed group can split up and meet at the exit.
- House of Frankenstein (4967 Clifton Hill). A walk-through monster house, with the Frank'N Coaster rooftop ride above it.
- Nightmares Fear Factory (5631 Victoria Avenue). The serious one. It has been running for more than 40 years and is aimed at adults. The Clifton Hill guide says children under six are not admitted, children must be with an adult, and groups go through in sixes. Its own site says thousands of visitors "chicken out" before the end, and it sells "Fear Pics" of guests' reactions.
Our Clifton Hill page covers the rest of the street, from the Niagara SkyWheel to mini golf.
A note for the week before: Frightmare in the Falls
Horror fans can make it a longer trip. Frightmare in the Falls, a horror-themed convention, ran October 23–25, 2026 at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre, 6815 Stanley Avenue, according to Clifton Hill's event post. The convention centre is close to the Fallsview hotels, and the haunts on Clifton Hill are a short ride away.
Book a Halloween night out with a late pickup
Halloween in Niagara Falls with teenagers
Many Halloween bookings come from parents arranging transport for teens. A plan that works:
- Agree the end time before leaving home. Haunted houses run late on Halloween weekend, but a 14-year-old does not need to see 2 a.m. Pick a pickup time and put it in the booking.
- Agree the meeting point. Clifton Hill is steep and narrow, crowded at the top on Victoria Avenue and at the bottom on Falls Avenue. We confirm a specific pickup spot with the group on the night, away from the busiest stretch, and the chauffeur sends a message on arrival.
- Know the age lines. Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino are 19+. Ontario's drinking age is also 19. Plan stops that suit the youngest person in the group, and put them in the booking notes.
- Seatbelts, every time. Ontario requires every passenger to wear a properly fastened seatbelt, and the chauffeur checks before moving off.
- No alcohol in the vehicle, ever. That applies to adults too. Niagara Region's by-law forbids a vehicle-for-hire driver from permitting alcohol consumption in the vehicle.
For bigger celebrations, our post on a parent-approved Sweet 16 limousine has a fuller checklist.
Adults and groups: haunts, then a night out
Adult groups often do two or three haunts in the early evening, a late dinner, then the casino or a bar. That is a lot of walking in October cold, and the casino at the top of the Fallsview hill is not a short walk from Clifton Hill in costume. With an hourly booking the vehicle stays nearby and moves you between stops.
Group vehicles that work on the hill:
- Executive Sprinter, up to 12 passengers. The practical choice for an office group.
- Party Bus, up to 12. Popular for birthdays and costume groups; availability confirmed at booking. Our party bus service explains how it works.
- Stretch SUV Limousine, up to 16; availability confirmed at booking.
Whatever the vehicle, it is an alcohol-free ride. Our group transportation page explains coaches for larger parties, and the nightlife guide covers bars near the hill. Teens and groups who want speed rather than scares should read our post on Niagara Speedway go-karts on Clifton Hill.
Staying the night instead
A Halloween-weekend hotel near Clifton Hill solves the late drive home completely. Several hotels sit at the foot of the hill on Falls Avenue, and Lundy's Lane has more choice a few minutes away by car; our Clifton Hill and Lundy's Lane hotels page compares them. Great Wolf Lodge, on Victoria Avenue, is about 3.6 km away, roughly a six-minute drive, which makes it an easy base for families who want the haunts after a day at the waterpark.
The Falls are still lit on Halloween, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. in late October, so a walk down to the railing between haunts is worth it. The summer fireworks season ended on October 12 in 2026, so there is no fireworks show that night.
Chauffeur vs rideshare vs taxi for this trip
| Mode | Door-to-door time from downtown Toronto | Cost note | Luggage and costumes | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private chauffeur | About 1 h 30 – 1 h 50, with a fixed late pickup | Fixed fare via booker | Costume bags and props fit | Teen groups, parents who will not drive at 1 a.m., adult groups |
| Rideshare | Similar on the way down | Surge pricing likely around closing times | Small trunk; group must split cars | Two or three adults staying locally |
| Taxi | Local hops only, realistically | Metered; queues at peak hours | Small trunk | Hotel to Clifton Hill and back |
| GO train | Schedule-bound; last trains leave well before the haunts close | GO fare | Carry-on | Adults on a day visit who leave early |
| Driving yourself | 1 h 30 – 1 h 50, plus paid parking near the hill | Fuel and parking | Whatever fits | Parents willing to be the designated driver |
The honest verdict. If you are staying at a Clifton Hill or Fallsview hotel, a taxi or rideshare for a short hop is fine, and the hill itself is walkable. For two adults leaving early, the train can work. The chauffeur wins for the classic Halloween problem: a group of teens who need one vehicle, one responsible adult in the driver's seat and a guaranteed pickup at a set time, or adults who want to finish at midnight and wake up at home. Our chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare guide explains when each makes sense.
Coming from the city for one night? The run from downtown Toronto is about 129 km (80 mi) via the Gardiner and the QEW, usually 1 h 30 – 1 h 50 off-peak, and a Saturday in late October can add to that on the way down. Leave Toronto by late afternoon for an evening on the hill, and set the return pickup no later than you would want a teenager home. Our Toronto to Niagara Falls route page covers pickups across the GTA.

Who Halloween on the hill suits
Groups are the core of the night: teen birthday parties, university friends, office teams, costume crews. See our groups page. Families with younger children do best with the gentler rides early in the evening, then home or the hotel by nine. Couples pick one serious haunt, a late dinner and the illuminated Falls. Individuals visiting Niagara in late October can drop in for a single haunt on the way to dinner; a short taxi is often enough.
If you want the full street rather than just the scares, our post on a Clifton Hill night out with a driver covers the arcades, the SkyWheel and the best order to do them.
Frequently asked questions
What is the scariest haunted house on Clifton Hill?
Nightmares Fear Factory on Victoria Avenue, across from Casino Niagara, is the one most people mean. It has been running for more than 40 years, is aimed at adults, and says thousands of visitors have "chickened out" before the end. The Clifton Hill guide notes that children under six are not admitted.
Is Clifton Hill open late on Halloween?
Yes, on Halloween weekend many attractions run late. Nightmares Fear Factory lists 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31, 2026. Hours vary by attraction and can change with weather, so check each one, especially outdoor rides, on the day.
Are Clifton Hill haunted houses suitable for children?
Some are. Ghost Blasters, Creepy Castle and The Haunted House are the gentler options, though height rules apply on some rides. Movieland's House of Horrors is optional within the museum. Nightmares Fear Factory does not admit children under six, according to the Clifton Hill guide.
Where can a limo pick up on Clifton Hill?
Clifton Hill is a short, steep street between Victoria Avenue at the top and Falls Avenue at the bottom, and both ends get crowded on Halloween. We confirm a specific meeting point with the group on the night, away from the busiest stretch, and the chauffeur messages on arrival.
Can teenagers ride in a party bus on Halloween without an adult?
A parent or another adult should make the booking and be the contact for the night, and many parents ride along or nominate a chaperone. There is no alcohol in any of our vehicles, seatbelts are mandatory in Ontario, and the pickup time is fixed in advance so parents know exactly when the night ends.
Are there fireworks at Niagara Falls on Halloween?
Not in 2026. The summer fireworks series ran nightly from May 15 to October 12, 2026. The Falls illumination runs every night, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the second half of October, so the Falls are lit while the haunts are open.
How much does a Halloween limo to Clifton Hill cost?
It depends on the vehicle, the pickup point and how long the car stays. Our booker prices the whole night as one fixed fare, visible before you pay, with no surge at closing time. Price an Executive Sprinter against a Party Bus if your group is close to 12.
