The phrase gets used loosely, so it is worth pinning down. A Pearson airport meet and greet is not a car idling at the curb with its hazard lights on. It is a chauffeur who has parked, walked into the arrivals area, and is holding a board with your name on it at the point where passengers come out of customs and baggage claim. From that moment you are not navigating anything on your own.
At NiagaraFallsLimo.net it is a box you tick in the booker (our meet and greet service page has the summary), and it changes the first ten minutes of your arrival more than anything else we offer. This post explains exactly what happens, who gets the most out of it, and what to tell us so the hand-off goes the way you picture it.
What does a meet and greet at Pearson include?
With NiagaraFallsLimo.net, a Pearson meet and greet means your chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board, helps with your bags, walks you to the pre-arranged pickup door and drives you about 121 km (75 mi) to Niagara Falls, usually 1 h 30 – 1 h 45 off-peak. Choose it as an option when you book online.
In practice that covers four things:
- A face at the exit. Your chauffeur stands where arriving passengers emerge, holding a board with the name you gave us.
- Hands for the luggage. Once you meet, the chauffeur takes the trolley or the heaviest cases and leads the way.
- The walk to the car. Pre-arranged vehicles at Toronto Pearson International Airport load at a designated door rather than anywhere on the curb, and your chauffeur knows which one.
- The drive. Straight down the QEW to your Niagara hotel, winery inn or private address, with no stop at a taxi rank and no app to open.
Pearson airport meet and greet versus curbside pickup
Both options get you to Niagara Falls. The difference is who does the finding.
With a curbside pickup, you collect your own bags, walk out to the pickup area, message or call to say you are ready, and watch for the car. Pearson's own guidance for pre-arranged services describes this model: you contact your company and wait at the designated area. Pearson lists Terminal 1 Door A and Terminal 3 Door A as the pre-arranged pickup points on its pre-arranged services page.
With a meet and greet, the chauffeur comes to you instead. You never have to work out which door is Door A, which level you are on, or whether the black SUV pulling in is yours. For a seasoned business traveller with one carry-on, curbside is usually fine. For almost everyone else, the inside meet is worth choosing.

How the hand-off works, minute by minute
Every arrival is slightly different, but the sequence is predictable.
- Wheels down. We track your flight number, so your chauffeur's timing follows the actual landing, not the time printed on your ticket. If the aircraft is held on the taxiway, nobody is pacing at the wrong moment.
- Customs and immigration. International passengers clear the Canada Border Services Agency before they reach baggage claim. Travellers on eligible flights can speed this up with the optional Advance Declaration in ArriveCAN, which the CBSA says works at Pearson's Terminals 1 and 3 (ArriveCAN information). It is optional, and it is the traveller's own declaration, not something a driver can do for you.
- Baggage claim. This is the part of the arrival you cannot rush, and the part where a meet-and-greet takes pressure off. Your chauffeur is already inside, so there is no meter running at the curb and no one circling the terminal loop.
- The meeting point. You walk out of the secure area and find your name. If you are travelling as a couple or family, only one of you needs to spot the board.
- Out to the car. The chauffeur leads you to the pre-arranged pickup door and loads the bags. Child seats you requested are already in the vehicle.
- On the road. From Pearson the usual route runs south to the QEW, around Hamilton Harbour on the Burlington Skyway and along the lakeshore to the Falls. Allow 1 h 30 – 1 h 45 off-peak and 2 h or more on a summer Friday afternoon.
Why older travellers and first-time visitors ask for it
The plan behind this post was written with seniors in mind, and the reasons are practical rather than sentimental.
Pearson is large. After a transatlantic flight or an overnight from the West Coast, the walk from gate to baggage hall is long, and the signage for ground transportation sends you outward through a busy hall. An older traveller who has just stood in the customs queue does not want to haul two cases to a curb and then start a phone call. Being met indoors removes the most tiring decision point of the day.
It also helps with things that are easy to forget when you are well rested:
- Hearing and phones. Some travellers do not want to manage a call or text on arrival. A name board needs neither.
- A slower pace. Your chauffeur walks at your speed and waits while you use the washroom or buy water.
- Mobility. If you have booked wheelchair assistance with your airline, that assistance gets you from the aircraft into the public area. Canada's accessibility rules then expect the terminal operator to help, on request, between the public area and the curb; the Canadian Transportation Agency explains this in its curbside assistance guide. A meet-and-greet chauffeur fits neatly into that chain. Tell us about mobility needs when you book; our wheelchair transfer planning post goes into detail.
For first-time visitors from abroad, the benefit is confidence. You do not need to know that Niagara Falls is in a different city from Toronto, that the drive is more than an hour, or that the QEW is the highway everyone means. Someone who drives that road every day is holding a sign with your name on it.
What to tell us when you book
The meet-and-greet is only as good as the information behind it. In the booker and the notes field, give us:
- The name for the board. Your surname is usual. Some travellers prefer a company name, a family name for a group, or initials for privacy. Our chauffeurs are discreet and an NDA is available on request.
- Your flight number. This is what lets us track the arrival. A flight number with the wrong date is the most common booking error we see, so check it against your itinerary.
- A mobile number that works in Canada. If your phone will be off or on airplane mode until you reach Wi-Fi, say so.
- Bags and passengers. Counting accurately matters because vehicle classes differ. A Standard Sedan carries up to 3 passengers and 2 large bags; a Standard SUV carries up to 6 people and 6 bags. Golf clubs, a stroller or ski bags need the larger vehicle. The fleet page shows every class.
- Anything that would change the meeting. Travelling with someone who needs wheelchair assistance, arriving with a pet in a carrier, connecting from a domestic flight: one line in the notes saves a phone call later.
Booking it with NiagaraFallsLimo.net in 3 steps
- Set the trip. Choose Pearson as the pickup, enter your hotel or address in Niagara as the drop-off, then add the date, the landing time and your flight number.
- Pick the car. Each vehicle class in the booker shows its fixed all-in fare before you go further, so you compare like with like.
- Add the meet and greet. Tick meet and greet, add passengers, bags and any child seats, then pay securely. Your confirmation arrives by email.
That is the whole process, and it all happens on the online booking page. If you want the background on how bookings and confirmations work, our guide to booking a limo covers it, and the Pearson airport transfer page has the route detail.

Chauffeur vs rideshare vs taxi for this trip
Pearson is served by taxis, airport limousines, rideshare apps and transit. Here is how they compare for the run to Niagara Falls; our airport transfers hub covers the other airports in the region.
| Option | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chauffeur with meet and greet | about 1 h 30 – 1 h 45 off-peak after you meet | fixed fare via booker, shown before you pay | sized to your booking, help carrying bags | seniors, first visits, families, late or long-haul arrivals |
| Pre-booked chauffeur, curbside | same drive time | fixed fare via booker | sized to your booking | experienced travellers with light bags |
| Rideshare (Uber, Lyft) | similar drive time plus wait for a match | app price, surge pricing at busy times | depends on car you are matched with | solo travellers comfortable with apps |
| Taxi or airport limousine from the rank | similar drive time plus queue | metered | standard trunk | travellers who did not plan ahead |
| UP Express plus GO train or bus | noticeably longer, with two connections | public fare | what you can carry on and off | budget-minded solo travellers with one bag |
The honest verdict. If you are a confident traveller with a single roller bag, landing in daylight, a rideshare from Pearson to Niagara Falls is a reasonable choice and plenty of people use it. Transit costs less again if you do not mind connections. A pre-booked chauffeur wins when the arrival is the hard part: after an overnight flight, with older parents, with children and car seats, with more bags than one trunk holds, or when you simply do not want to make decisions in an unfamiliar airport. Adding meet and greet is the difference between "find your car" and "be found". Our chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare guide goes deeper.
Who it suits
Individuals arriving for meetings or after a long-haul flight like it because the first decision of the trip is already made; our page for individual travellers explains how we look after solo guests. Couples on a first visit, or celebrating something, get a calm start to the weekend instead of a hunt along the curb. Families benefit most: one adult manages the children, the other spots the board, and the car seats are already fitted. Groups arriving on the same flight have a single meeting point and one chauffeur coordinating, which matters when ten people are spread across a baggage hall; see our post on group airport transfers in Sprinter vans.
After the meet: where the car takes you
Most of our Pearson arrivals go to the Fallsview hotels above the Horseshoe Falls, to the Falls Avenue and Clifton Hill area, or out to the inns of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The chauffeur drops you at the hotel entrance, unloads the bags and hands them to the bell desk if there is one. If you are arriving late at night, our post on flight tracking for delayed YYZ arrivals explains what happens when the schedule slips, and Terminal 1 versus Terminal 3 covers the differences between the two buildings.

Frequently asked questions
Where will my chauffeur wait at Pearson?
Inside the arrivals area, where passengers come out after customs and baggage claim, holding a board with the name you gave us. If you booked curbside instead, the car meets you at the pre-arranged pickup point, which Pearson lists as Door A at Terminal 1 and Door A at Terminal 3.
What if my flight lands early or late?
We track the flight number on your booking, so the chauffeur's timing follows the real arrival. Early landings and delays are both handled that way. The important thing is that the flight number and date in your booking are correct; a mismatch is the usual cause of confusion.
Can the name board show a company name instead of mine?
Yes. Enter whatever you want displayed in the booking notes: a surname, a company, a family name for a group or initials. For privacy-sensitive guests, our chauffeurs are discreet and a non-disclosure agreement is available on request.
Is meet and greet available at Buffalo or Hamilton too?
Meet and greet with a name board is a booker option, and we run airport transfers from Buffalo Niagara, Hamilton, Billy Bishop and other airports in the region. Choose your airport as the pickup and the option appears with the rest of the extras before you pay.
How long is the drive from Pearson to Niagara Falls after we meet?
About 121 km (75 mi) to the Fallsview area. Off-peak it usually takes 1 h 30 – 1 h 45. On a summer Friday afternoon, or when there is an incident on the QEW near the Burlington Skyway, allow 2 hours or more.
Do I need to tip or pay the chauffeur at the airport?
Nothing is settled at the curb. The booker shows a fixed all-in fare for your pickup, drop-off and vehicle before you pay online, and your confirmation is emailed, so the airport meeting is about bags and directions, not money. Any other payment questions are best sent to the reservations desk before you fly.
Is meet and greet worth it for one person?
For a single seasoned traveller with a carry-on, curbside pickup is often enough. For anyone arriving after a long flight, travelling for the first time to Canada, or travelling with an older relative, being met indoors is the option we recommend, because it removes the part of the arrival most people find stressful.
