There is a particular kind of traveller who books this hotel. Often they first came to Niagara Falls decades ago, perhaps on a honeymoon, and they remember the old General Brock or the Crowne Plaza that followed it. They want a room facing the Falls, a dining room with history, and an arrival that does not involve a long walk, a steep hill or a parking garage.
The building at 5685 Falls Avenue opened on 1 July 1929 as the General Brock Hotel, named for Major General Sir Isaac Brock of the War of 1812. Its guest list over the years includes Marilyn Monroe, who stayed while filming Niagara, and Queen Elizabeth II (The Brock's history page). For years it traded as the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview. In April 2025, after a $15 million renovation, it became The Brock Niagara Falls-Fallsview, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, with 237 rooms and suites. NiagaraFallsLimo.net books the airport and day-trip rides with the extra time and help that make a stay here relaxed.
Is the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls still open, and how do you get there?
The former Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview is now The Brock Niagara Falls-Fallsview, 5685 Falls Avenue, at the foot of Clifton Hill. It is about 121 km (75 mi) from Toronto Pearson, usually 1 h 30 – 1 h 50, and about 42 km from Buffalo airport. NiagaraFallsLimo.net shows a fixed fare, including any wheelchair option, in its online booker before you pay.
The name change catches people out. Old confirmation emails, guidebooks and map searches may still say Crowne Plaza. When you book a car, use "The Brock, 5685 Falls Avenue" and the chauffeur will go straight there.
Why Falls Avenue is an easy place to be collected
Most of the big hotels in Niagara Falls sit on the Fallsview ridge, above the Horseshoe Falls. The Brock sits lower, on Falls Avenue near the Rainbow Bridge, across from the American Falls. For travellers who find hills difficult, that lower position matters in three ways:
- Short distances. Clifton Hill is about 600 m away, and the Niagara City Cruises dock on the Niagara Parkway is a similar short ride.
- Indoor connections. The hotel's FAQ says it is directly connected to Casino Niagara by an internal walkway and to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark (The Brock FAQ). On a wet or icy day, guests can reach restaurants without going outside.
- A simple pickup. A car can come to the hotel entrance on Falls Avenue rather than waiting on a busy boulevard.
If you are still choosing a hotel, our comparison of which Falls-view hotels make arrivals easiest weighs Falls Avenue against the ridge-top towers.
What an accessible arrival looks like
For guests using a wheelchair, a walker, or simply moving more slowly, small arrangements make a large difference. In the booker:
- Choose the wheelchair option if a wheelchair needs to travel with you, and describe it (folding or rigid, approximate weight) in the notes. The desk confirms a suitable vehicle.
- Add meet & greet at the airport. The chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board and handles bags from the carousel to the car, so you are not hauling a suitcase through the terminal.
- Mention a service animal. Trained service animals are welcome in our vehicles.
- Ask for extra time at pickup. A note such as "please allow 15 minutes to load" is honoured, and the chauffeur plans for it.
At Pearson, pre-arranged cars meet passengers at Terminal 1 Door A and Terminal 3 Door A. Pearson itself advises travellers to check directly with their operator whether it can carry a non-folding mobility aid, which is why the details in your booking notes matter. Our accessible transportation service explains the options, and the Pearson airport transfer page covers the meeting points.
For the room itself, contact the hotel directly about accessible rooms and features; The Brock publishes its accessibility policies and contact details on its site.
Book an accessible airport transfer
The drive from Pearson, at an unhurried pace
The route follows the QEW around the western end of Lake Ontario for most of its 121 km. In normal traffic it takes about 1 h 30 to 1 h 50. A comfortable sedan suits most couples; a Standard SUV gives more legroom and an easier step-in height for some passengers than a low limousine.
Please ask for a stop if you need one. A rest break halfway, around Hamilton or St. Catharines, is easy to add as a stop in the booker, and the fixed fare is shown before you pay. Couples who prefer not to arrive tired sometimes add a lunch stop at a winery restaurant on the way. Distances from the hotel to the other airports: Buffalo Niagara about 42 km (26 mi), roughly 45 minutes plus the border; Hamilton about 90 km (56 mi), roughly 1 h 15 – 1 h 30.
Short outings that suit a slower pace
Several Niagara Parks attractions near the hotel are accessible and close enough that a ride of a few minutes saves a long walk:
- Niagara City Cruises depart from the Niagara Parkway dock in the gorge, a short ride from the hotel. Niagara Parks lists the boats as wheelchair accessible, with a seasonal schedule from spring to late autumn (Niagara Parks cruises). Our Niagara City Cruises guide has the details.
- The Tunnel at the Niagara Parks Power Station takes visitors down by glass elevator to a platform at the river's edge, and Niagara Parks describes it as fully accessible.
- Table Rock Centre, at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls, about 3 km south along the Parkway.
- A slow Parkway drive north to the Floral Clock and Queenston Heights, which can be done entirely from the car with brief photo stops.
These work well as a two- or three-hour booking by the hour. The chauffeur drops you at each door and waits.
Visitors from the US: the bridge on the doorstep
For American guests, The Brock's position is unusually convenient: the Rainbow Bridge plaza is a few hundred metres away, so a trip home to Buffalo Niagara airport, or a day visit to the American Falls, starts at the border almost immediately. The bridge takes cars, limousines and buses, and the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission collects its toll only on traffic entering Canada (Niagara Falls Bridge Commission).
Every passenger needs their own valid document; US citizens re-entering by land can present a passport, passport card, enhanced driver's licence or trusted-traveller card. Keep documents with you rather than packed in a suitcase in the trunk, and nobody can promise how long a crossing will take, so allow plenty of margin before a flight. The Rainbow Bridge guide explains the approach and the alternatives.
Quieter months, gentler visits
Many older travellers prefer Niagara outside July and August, when Falls Avenue is calmer and restaurants have space. Late autumn and winter bring the Winter Festival of Lights, from 14 November 2026 to 10 January 2027, much of which can be seen from a slow-moving car along the Parkway. Spring brings the first cruises and the gardens coming back to life. Any of these can be booked as an hourly outing from the hotel door.
Parking, if someone in the family is driving
The Brock's FAQ lists an indoor covered self-parking garage at $45 plus taxes per night (as of 2026), with no valet mentioned. If a family member is driving you, that is straightforward. If the alternative is an older couple driving the QEW themselves after a long flight, a chauffeured arrival is the kinder plan for everyone.
Booking it with NiagaraFallsLimo.net in 3 steps
- Enter the trip. Pickup at the airport terminal with flight number, or your home address; drop-off at The Brock Niagara Falls-Fallsview, 5685 Falls Avenue.
- Choose the vehicle. A Standard Sedan carries up to 3 passengers with 2 large bags. A Standard SUV carries up to 6 with 6 bags, leaving more room for a folding chair; the desk confirms the right vehicle for your mobility aid. Each class shows its fixed fare.

Chauffeur vs rideshare vs taxi for this trip
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) | Pearson 1 h 30 – 1 h 50 | Surge pricing; driver help with bags varies | Sedan-sized | Able travellers with light bags |
| Taxi | Same | Metered | Sedan or minivan | Short local hops on Falls Avenue |
| GO train or bus | 2 h 30+ with connections | Published fares | What you can carry | Confident, light travellers |
| Driving yourself | 1 h 30 – 1 h 50, plus parking | Fuel plus $45 a night garage (as of 2026) | Plenty | Those who enjoy the drive |
| Private chauffeur | Door to door, help with bags | Fixed fare via booker | Matched to bags and mobility aids | Seniors, wheelchair users, late flights |
Honest advice: for a short ride from Falls Avenue to Table Rock, a taxi is fine, and WEGO buses serve the area too. For the long airport leg, and especially with a mobility aid, a pre-booked vehicle with a driver who expects you and helps with bags is the difference between a calm arrival and an exhausting one. The chauffeur vs taxi vs rideshare guide compares the options.
Who it suits
Couples, particularly older couples returning for an anniversary, are this hotel's natural guests; our couples page has occasion ideas. Individuals travelling alone appreciate a known driver and help with bags. Families bringing grandparents along can book an SUV with room for everyone and a wheelchair. Groups such as seniors' clubs or reunion parties can ask about an Executive Sprinter or coaches. For the hotel itself, see The Brock Fallsview page and the Clifton Hill and Lundy's Lane hotels guide. Our posts on staying on Clifton Hill and the neighbouring Sheraton Fallsview cover the same block.
