It is 11:40 on a Friday night. The coach from Toronto has been in QEW traffic for most of the evening and pulls into the Niagara Falls Bus Terminal on Erie Avenue forty minutes late. Thirty people step off with backpacks and roller bags. Most of them are heading for a hotel up on Fallsview Boulevard or near Clifton Hill, and most of them have not thought about how they will get there.
This post is for them, and especially for students and budget travellers who chose the bus for good reasons and want the last few kilometres to go just as well.
Where is the Niagara Falls Bus Terminal, and how far is it from Fallsview?
The Niagara Falls Bus Terminal is at 4555 Erie Avenue, across the street from the GO and VIA station, about 2.5 km (1.5 mi) from Clifton Hill and 3.5 km (2 mi) from the Fallsview hotels, 4–6 minutes by car. NiagaraFallsLimo.net meets coach arrivals there; the booker shows a fixed fare before payment.
By day, a local bus, the WEGO visitor bus or a walk can all work. Late at night, with luggage or with a group, the choice narrows quickly.
Who arrives at Erie Avenue
The terminal is a stop for several services, and knowing which one you are on tells you if a closer stop was an option:
- GO Transit. GO lists the terminal as a GO bus stop. When a direct Niagara train is not running, GO's advice is to ride the Lakeshore West train to Burlington and transfer to GO Bus route 12, which ends here, across the street from the Niagara Falls GO train station. The GO stop page shows departures.
- Megabus. Megabus lists the stop as "Megabus/New York Trailways Bus Stop at Niagara Falls (Ontario - Bus Terminal) - 4555 Erie Ave", and it also lists a Rapidsview Transit Station stop. Its stops page has the full list.
- FlixBus. FlixBus calls its stop here the Niagara Falls Transit Terminal. On the Toronto route it also stops at Rapidsview, Table Rock and Mount Carmel Centre.
- Local buses. Niagara Region Transit runs local routes from the terminal, including routes 102, 108 and 115, according to its route list.
Before you get on the coach: check for a closer stop
The simplest way to shorten the last mile is not to need it. If you are on FlixBus, check if your trip stops at Table Rock, at 6690 Niagara River Parkway, right at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls. From there the Fallsview hotels are a short, though uphill, walk or a quick ride. FlixBus also says a ticket to its Rapidsview stop includes a free WEGO shuttle to Table Rock and back.
If your coach ends at Erie Avenue regardless, read on. Our post comparing FlixBus, Megabus and the GO bus from Toronto shows which services stop where.
The first five minutes off the coach
Orientation helps. The terminal faces the Niagara Falls GO and VIA station at 4267 Bridge Street. The falls are to the south, and the ground rises as you head toward Fallsview, which sits on the ridge above the Horseshoe Falls. Clifton Hill is in between, closer to the river.
If you have arranged a pickup, agree the meeting point in advance. Coaches unload at the same time as people are being collected, and a specific spot avoids a lot of waving and phoning. When you book with us, the reservations desk confirms where your chauffeur will be and sends their details before the day. Give the coach company and departure time in the booking notes so the desk can allow for a late arrival.

Four ways from the terminal to Fallsview
1. Walk
Clifton Hill is roughly 2.5 km by road from the terminal, about half an hour on foot. Fallsview is further and uphill. It is a fine walk for a student with a backpack on a summer afternoon, and much less fine with a roller bag after dark.
2. A local bus
Niagara Region Transit's local routes leave from the terminal and connect through the city. Check the current route map and evening times on nrtransit.ca before relying on them, because local routes thin out at night.
3. WEGO
WEGO, the Niagara Parks visitor bus, has a stop at the GO/VIA station and bus terminal on its Green Line, which runs south along the river to Table Rock Centre. From Table Rock, the Blue Line climbs to the Fallsview and Clifton Hill hotels. As of 2026, an adult 24-hour pass is CA$16.00, and WEGO passes are sold at retailers including the bus station. In daytime and early evening, this is the best-value option. WEGO runs year-round, but service is less frequent outside the summer, and the last buses leave in the evening. The WEGO page links the current timetable, and our post on where WEGO goes and where it does not explains the lines.
4. A car
A taxi, a rideshare or a pre-booked car covers the 3.5 km to Fallsview in about 6 minutes. The difference between them is mostly about the wait, which matters most when a full coach unloads at once and everyone reaches for an app.
Leaving Niagara by coach: the same trip in reverse
The return leg deserves the same thought. Coaches leave on time even when the WEGO bus you were counting on is running late, and Fallsview to Erie Avenue is downhill but still 3.5 km. Give yourself a margin of at least 20 minutes at the terminal, more on a busy summer Sunday, when the coaches back to Toronto fill up. If you are checking out with bags, a booked car from the hotel door to the terminal is a short ride with no rush at the end.
Arriving late at night
Late arrivals are where the bus-to-hotel leg most often goes wrong. Three reasons:
- Coaches run late. A Toronto coach shares the QEW with everyone else, and a Friday evening departure can arrive well after its scheduled time.
- Transit winds down. WEGO's evening service finishes before the late coaches arrive, and local buses run less often at night.
- Demand arrives in a lump. When thirty people step off together, the first few get the nearest cars and the rest wait.
If your coach is due after about 9 p.m., or you are arriving with heavy bags, a pre-booked pickup removes the guesswork. Your chauffeur is assigned before you leave Toronto and adjusts to the actual arrival.
Chauffeur vs rideshare vs taxi for this trip
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Walking | About 30 min to Clifton Hill, longer to Fallsview | Free | A backpack | Students travelling light, daytime |
| Local bus | Varies with route and connection | Regional transit fare | What you can carry | Budget travellers, daytime |
| WEGO Green and Blue lines | About 20–40 min with a transfer at Table Rock | Adult 24 h pass CA$16 (as of 2026) | What you can carry | Daytime sightseers |
| Rideshare | About 6 min plus the wait | Surge pricing when a coach unloads | Standard car boot | One or two people at a quiet time |
| Taxi | About 6 min plus the wait | Metered | Standard car boot | Short single hops |
| Driving yourself | Not applicable from the coach | Hotel parking at the other end | Full boot | Not relevant for most bus travellers |
| Private chauffeur | About 4–6 min, waiting at arrival | Fixed fare via booker | Matched to vehicle class | Late arrivals, groups, heavy luggage |
The verdict. In daylight, with a backpack, take WEGO or walk: you will see more of the city and save money, and we would tell a friend to do the same. A taxi or rideshare is fine for one or two people at a quiet hour. A pre-booked chauffeur wins for late-night coach arrivals, for groups who want to travel together in one vehicle, and for anyone with heavy luggage heading uphill to a Fallsview hotel. Our Niagara Falls taxi alternative page sets out what changes when a car is reserved before you arrive.
Who it suits
Students and other individuals are the bus's main riders, and most daytime arrivals will not need a car; for late arrivals, a booked pickup is a safety and comfort choice as much as a convenience. Couples arriving for a weekend often prefer to go straight to the hotel lobby. Families with children and luggage find the terminal-to-Fallsview climb hard work. Groups, such as a residence floor or a sports team on a weekend trip, can travel together in an SUV for up to six or an Executive Sprinter for up to twelve with carry-on bags, rather than splitting across several cars; see our page for groups.
A note for student groups: the Niagara Falls casinos admit guests aged 19 and over, which is also Ontario's drinking age. There is no drinking in our vehicles, whatever anyone's age; Niagara Region's by-law forbids drivers from permitting it.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the Niagara Falls bus station?
The Niagara Falls Bus Terminal is at 4555 Erie Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario, across the street from the Niagara Falls GO and VIA train station at 4267 Bridge Street. GO, Megabus and FlixBus use it, and local Niagara Region Transit routes leave from it.
How do I get from the Niagara Falls bus terminal to Clifton Hill?
Clifton Hill is about 2.5 km away: roughly half an hour on foot, about 4 minutes by car. In the daytime, the WEGO Green Line from the station to Table Rock, then the Blue Line, is a good-value option. Late at night, a taxi or a pre-booked car is easier.
Does WEGO stop at the Niagara Falls bus terminal?
Yes. The WEGO Green Line lists a stop at the GO/VIA station and bus terminal, running south along the river to Table Rock Centre, where it meets the Blue Line for the Fallsview and Clifton Hill hotels. Service is less frequent outside summer and ends in the evening.
Is there a bus closer to the falls than the terminal?
Yes, on some services. FlixBus lists a Table Rock stop at 6690 Niagara River Parkway, at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls, and a Rapidsview stop where its ticket includes a free WEGO shuttle to Table Rock and back. Check your ticket for the stop before you travel.
Is it safe to walk from the bus terminal to Fallsview at night?
It is a city walk of around 3.5 km, partly uphill, and with luggage it is tiring. Most travellers arriving late prefer a car. A pre-booked chauffeur is assigned in advance and adjusts to the coach's actual arrival time.
Can I store luggage at the Niagara Falls bus terminal?
We could not confirm luggage storage at the terminal on an official page, so do not count on it. If you arrive before hotel check-in, most hotels will hold bags at the front desk. A booked car can take you and your bags straight to the hotel, and you can head out from there.
What does a car from the bus terminal to Fallsview cost?
You see the price before you commit: the booker lists a fixed all-in fare for the terminal-to-hotel trip in each vehicle class. The fare is per vehicle, so friends sharing one SUV split one fixed price.
